Sorry I was trying to be a human being in this thread,Im not trying to sell anything I told everyone I have tried 4 different e cigs. This is why I was skeptical about posting here.If any customers ask Ill tell them straight up I smoke some analogs.Im not a liar.

>

It is absolutely absurd to accuse Steve (Rain Man) of anything other than socially engaging other e-cig users. I dealt with Steve as a customer and just a few minutes into a telephone conversation (that he initiated to ensure an order was correct) it felt like we were lifelong friends. He is a prince of a guy, honest and humble.

I think it's disgraceful to suggest that his activity within this thread, person to person, is some sort of subterfuge in furthering his business.

Man, the blu thing has people grasping at cynical straws...

I think the main thing I will miss is playing with the smoke. I donno, because I have not tried a e-cig yet (my m401 is in the mail) but I would think it would be harder to get a good smoke ring or a French in hail because of the dissipation. But considering the apparent health benefits I think it will be worth it to only smoke e-cigs and I sure am planning on quitting analogs.

Fear not, JA. Most any e-cig device gives off plumes of vapor with regular e-juice. If you wanted to you could add additional PG or VG for even more. But trust me on this, get yourself a manual device where you can take loooong drags and you'll have all the vapor you could ever imagine. I can't even exhale all of it in one shot sometimes.

No you can't make smoke rings anymore, but you can make as many vape rings as you want. As you say, they wont float across the room and hang there -- but that's so others don't have to breathe your second hand smoke. =)

It's every bit as much fun, JA. More so even because there's no guilt of killing yourself slowly like with an analog. Good luck...

I havent been smoking all that long, i started only about 2 years, but was quickly up to a pack a day, and for the last couple months a pack and a half. my family tends to have addictive personalities. im only on my 3rd day with the vaporizor, i had a pretty much a half pack the first day I got it, because it wasnt charged and what not, and yesterday I only had one (though i must say, if there were any analogs around i wouldve smoked probably 3 or 4, but my pack was all gone). today i dont know whats going to happen, i have to work where i may not be able to keep recharging my batteries and stuff. im going to try to resist smoking an analog, but if my e cig dies, we'll see what happens. also, ive been getting a lot of urges for an analog. think i may need to up the juice or something, or just suffer through it and use this thing to get off nicotine altogether. definately takes the edge off quiting better than anything else.

These things arent a "magic bullet" so to speak. For some, maybe most, you have to commit to this and want to stop tobacco hard enough. Ive read some people look at it like switching brands, which does seem like a good analogy. Im almost into my third week (yeahyyyy!:)) and on the rare occasion I get a big craving for an analog, I put down my 901/801 and pick up my 510 (always filled with tobacco flavor 36mg) which I only use on such an occasion. The 510 vapes like a CHAMP but im worried about the burning cart thing so I use sparingly. Technique is everything and best of luck!

I was smoking almost 2 x 25' packets per day. But the day I received my first e-sig I just left my last packet half empty on the desk.

I tried to smoke an analog 4 days after I started e-sigs, and I must I admit I felt the real smoke disgusting and really annoying... :nah:

Yeap, It worked for me. I instantly replaced analogs with e-sigs. I'm not going back to analog even if I run out of supplies....!!!!!!!! ;-)

This drives me nuts. This is not a quit smoking board. It is an e smoking board. If you bought an e cigarette to quit smoking, follow that advice. If you bought one to cut back or to escape smoking bans, follow those users. It is whatever you want it to be. I wanted to cut back on smoking but still allow myself some real cigs. I did that. Just because you bought an e cig does not magically mean you quit smoking unless you want to do that. If you use the e cig, you will probably cut way back on smoking. That is a good thing. However, unless you know that cutting back is not good enough, then don't expect e cigs to make you a non-smoker unless you want to be a non-smoker. The choice is up to you.

I hear so many stories on when people get the first e - cig they just plain quit after 20-40 odd years of smoking.I have been smoking for 20 years since I was 15.My question is did everyone that quit just magically get the e cig and quit totally or did you try a cutting down method? Maybe Im a different breed but I still smoke some analogs while vaping and it really pisses me off but I feel something is missing.I am about to set a quit date to only vape just getting this off my chest :)

Hi - You have a big advantage that I didn't have when I first started vaping -- spare parts! When I got my kit, I had a couple of battery failures that wiped out the first effort. The company (vaporcig.com) was great about whisking replacement parts to me, and I spent the next week vaping and smoking. It occurred to me that if I wanted to transfer my habit from smoking to vaping, I would need some redundancy in replacement parts. By that time, I had enough stuff to build four e-cigs.

I was ...... at the price increase of smokes due to taxes, and incensed that none of that money was aimed at smoker's health or smoking cessation.

So I was aiming to use e-cigs to reduce my cigarette consumption. One day I noticed that the pack of Marlboro ultra light 100s on my desk was becoming stale. Then I realized that it had been open for three days.

That became my last pack. I hadn't intended to stop smoking, but I did anyway.

It wasn't magic. I didn't take one vape and declare it forever better than smoking. Instead, it took me a couple of weeks to meander around to that conclusion.

So don't beat yourself up, and don't let the nay-sayers in this thread get you down. I think it's a good idea to pick up a pack of something that you don't ordinarily smoke. Then when you light one, it'll hit you that the cigarette's really not as nice as you thought. When the thought "This is nasty" agrees with the sensation, and you want to vape to clean your mouth out, you've done it.

If I had set a date and a schedule, measuring out the number of smokes I could have each day, I would have failed. Some folks may do well by tapering, but not me. I don't have the patience. I like to smoke. I like to vape. I like to vape more than I like cigarettes, but I really don't like cigarettes anymore, so I don't smoke anymore. :)

I ordered a 901 from parked at dietsmokes and received it basically the next day. (ordered really early in the A.M.) on the day it arrived i had smoked my last two cigs of my pack. Opened it up and set everything up. set one battery on the charger and started vaping with the other. Only had it for 2 day so far and haven't even wanted an analog. So far. However i am out of the highs and the mediums. So i am anxiously waiting for my refill. I'm not too happy with the cart life of the 901. So i ordered some blank janty carts thanks to Grimgreen's video. hopefully i'll make it without analog's until i get the carts and juice. but so far i am doing ok.

hmm.. Can't seem to find the edit button for the previous post. Well, did some digging and it seems that i missed the info about the dura's leak problem even after doing the trick in grim's video. (BTW watched it again and he gave credit to Sun) Carts still haven't shipped so hopefully can get order changed.. if not guess there is no harm in trying to get it to work myself.

One of the things you may want to think about if you're trying to get off analogs is that e-cigs is just one approach to tobacco reduced harm products. Others would be Swedish style snus, dissolvable nicotine, nasal snuff, and yes' even chew and dip. The last two are a bit disgusting for me but they are considered reduced harm.

Check out this site

Tobaccoharmreduction.org

What works for one person may not work for another. I have my own preferences, largely snus with a bit of nasal snuff, but I think it's all good. It may be a good idea to try as many options as you can and see what works for you.

Not exactly. Breathing burned smoke is different than breathing liquid steam. Using a PV isn't really smoking. What you're reaching for here is the nicotine angle. This isn't so much a "quit using nicotine" board as it is a "quit using burning leafs to get your nicotine" board. In other words, people are quitting analogue smoking in droves here, but most of them are continuing to take nicotine, even though they're not smoking anymore. It's a fine but important distinction.

Which is a good description of what "Tobacco Reduced Harm" is. The only difference is tobacco reduced harm includes other products along with e-cigs.

Fair enough. But if you can avoid tobacco and its many toxins then it's not a bad idea to do so imho - even if that includes snus, snuff etc.. Just my tuppence.
