Quitting cigarette success rate.

Reading the success rates on here--amazing!

I was a '30 cigs a day' smoker for 28 years. I never thought I could give 'em up & wasn't even PLANNING to when I first heard of the e-cig last June.

Within a week of using the penstyle, I had no desire to go back to the real thing. I've been analog-free since July 4 2008, and not been tempted to go back even once.

(My sister was a 2 pack a day smoker for almost as long as me, she quit analogs a month after me & STILL thanks me at least once a week for telling her about these things!)

I quit analogs on day 1 of vaping. I am only at 5 weeks, but analogs smell awful to me now. I also had no intention of quitting. I just love gadgets and thought I'd check it out. Changed my life. I can taste and smell again and no more second hand soke around the kids. My wife is trying, but has problems with the reliability/consistancy factor. I don't mind fussing with my gear, but it drive her nuts that it doesn't always "just work". Still searching for the "holy grail" for her.

Thanks everyone for sharing your stories with me. Sounds like many of you are having success with E-smoking. It amazes me to hear how many of you are very heavy smokers. " I smoked at least 3 packs a day for over 30 yrs" 3 packs a day for 30 years. wow. That makes me think about how bad cigarettes could actually be haha. Do you have any health problems after all that cigarette consumption??

Thats one of the reasons why I am reluctant to e-smoke. Look how much cigarette smoking it takes to kill people on average! I hope the same is true or even better with the e-cigs.

Im also t hinking that you guys who only e-smoke when quiting might actually be quiting cigs almost cold turkey. Thats probably why its easier to quit the e-smoking too, because you are not getting much nicotine. very interesting.
