So I was outside of the grocery store, waiting for a cab, and started chatting with a smoker, who made this comment. Aside from getting a juice she just didn't like (Like if i tried liver flavor ejuice *gag.. nasty... lol* , I wouldn't have tried it again), I'm wondering, did this smoker try vaping an 18mg juice with a 100w box and cartomizer or in a reg ecig?

I put 18mg in my vapeplum ecig, and carry it around, but i only use 3mg juice in my 100w box. I would think hitting that 18mg at 40w would make me pretty sick too, just like that niccy-gum if you chew it like bubblegum.

I'm just wondering if there might be any other reasons a person would get 'sick' from vaping, aside from vaping too strong juice at too high a wattage or getting a flavor you really didn't like.

Sometimes when you show somebody your Ecig and tell them you've had really good luck with it They tend to come back with a

counter remark that says I tried those and I got really sick and went back to smoking.........and that leaves us vapers with nothing

to say back to them and they have the last word.......................................when in realty they tried a---$12.00 ecig with the little

lite on the end and never really researched this great vaping thing at all.............................just my experience with people........

and then again she may have gotten sick there is always a possibility..........................................

Some people only buy stuff and dont research about it. So many factors u need to know for u to like vaping i suppose. I used to vape 3mg and didnt like vaping at all since i still have the urge to smoke but when a friend of mine gave me a 6mg juice I was back on track. I guess the right nic level is the most crucial part of first time vapers

I get in a lot of these talks on my break go out to have a few puffs on my balrog with super mini tank. People always give me that "Oh I get sick of those or it sucks they dont work for me) 75% of them always find out they tried a blu or whatever garbage.

I get the occasional that's bad for me from a cig smoker.

All of those conversations I generally tell people google works great for searching and to never take everything you read as the truth. Encourage research and anyone that seems semi interested I tell them what my health was like and what it is now per my doctor and that vaping is not easy to start in it's a journey it takes time and it takes learning how to use it and what works for you. I refer to how yes it's easy to smoke just light it up and boom off to the races. Vaping can be like that once you got it down after about a month you usually have a lot of the "bugs" of learning ironed out and it only gets better and better from that point.

Currently turning my uncle (smoker of around 50 years) over to vaping. He was really interested when I mentioned on FB a few times in the last year how my journey from quitting smoking has been in the last year. So sending him over a candy mod box 30w with a kangertank (or i might just buy him a new tank to pair with it).

I would bet your exactly right about having a nic sick episode which is just awful. Unfortunately when starting out they are not uncommon since your experimenting like crazy and it's easy to over do it.

I have had it happen a few times either by taking too many hits in a row or just by using a higher mg strength .

I hope that person can see it for what it is and not give up on e cigs permanently because of it.

She wasn't ready to commit to stopping smoking.
Could have been over "dual using" causing nic sick, also.
I found you still need some will power, having a stroke was my final motivation.
Gasping for breath for 5 minutes from just getting into bed was MY motivation.. not to mention.. I am 52, my wife is 36... 'nuff said. ;)

Ok so this is strictly for new people researching before trying ecigs for the first time, since google does work. Don't buy the most expensive 200w box and massive tank for something you may or may not like or be willing to stick to, $200 is a big out of pocket cost just to start and "try it". On the other hand, don't go cheapie either. That $12 ecig is prepackaged garbage. I recommend going up to a mid range ecig. I started with a vapeplum. $39.99 (vs a pen style at $24.99) and TALK TO THE SALESPERSON!!! Let him recommend your nicotine MG for your ecig based on how many ciggys you smoke per day.

I've been vaping for about 10 weeks, and yes, I do sometimes want a "real" cigarette. I just don't have it, and the feeling passes. Usually just sitting down and vaping on my e-cig (vapeplum) for a 5 minute ME time is enough. Remember, smoking isn't just an addiction, it's a ritual. So keep the ritual, toss the cigarette.

Also, buy extra coils and juice. Keep at least 1 extra coil at all times. So if you cook your coil, you don't run out and buy cigarettes. Same goes for the juice. Don't run out. (Just like you would not run out of cigarettes before you started vaping)

Now, something most former smokers can say "Yeah, that happened to me too!" too....
Today, for the first time in years, I smelled that 'stale cigarette' smell on someone else on the bus. You know, that lingering cigarette smell that gets into your clothes, hair, skin, breath, etc? I was really pleased by this. In some twisted way, I saw this as a victory and a testament that I was doing ok!

I killed time when i started, by trying to rebuild those non-rebuildable coils. I never did get one that actually ever worked again, but it was busy hands work. Now I'm wrapping coils, though i'll be lucky if half of them work. Oh well, i can uncoil and rewrap the wire. lol.

I got nic sick many times in my first few months of vaping. I was vaping like a train on 36mg WTA juice. I lowered it quickly after that. I knew what was happening but I didn't care. I wanted to get off the stinkies really really bad.

My nephew works at a vape shop and he thought I was nuts, but it worked! Now I vape happily on 6- 12mg and no more nasty cigs. And that smell you were talking about. Good Lord I was sick the first time I noticed it that was how I used to smell. YECH!

Just thinking.. since talking about smells.. I was on the bus today, no vaping allowed, yet these teens can get on reeking of cheap perfume which they use in lieu of actually washing with soap and water... Now, I vape in the apartment, and my wife doesn't mind, and has no adverse side effects from 2nd hand vape... but on that bus, that perfume literally caused me to have a coughing spell.. It was like vaping bleach.. (though not quite that bad, but you get the idea). I swear, I just want to tell them to use a little soap and wash their body.. I mean, I am in Canada, we do have enough fresh water for them to have an actual bath! lol.
