Cory was a friend of SmokeStik and we mourn his passing.

A terribly sad thing for such a talented young man to have his life end so soon. Nothing factual is known at this time about his death and in our opinion nothing will be known until after an investigation is complete. I am aware that rumors abound right now regarding the cause of death but in respect for his family we will not be passing them on.

So, sadly the rumors were true. What a senseless loss. It's been an emotional week here at SmokeStik even for those of us that didn't personally know Cory. Because we all know Justin of course and we feel terrible for him. Here is an explanation of the relationship if anyone is interested.

Justin Neill-SmokeStik partner and executive was Cory Monteith’s roommate | Smokestik Blog

I would like to add my own little tribute to Cory as a human being...since I know nothing about him as an actor. I don't even own a television. What I know of him is what I've heard from Justin mostly,,,just day to day talk about our lives. When I saw this qoute it sounded exactly like the person Justin talked about.

"To stay sober, even as he became a heartthrob, Monteith said, "I just try to do the next right thing. That’s all I can say. When you have this whole fame thing, it seems like so many opportunities and there’s so many opportunities to do the next wrong "

That's really IT ...all there really is...just try to do the next right thing.

Thank you Raven. It's already a "has been" story in the news but his friends and family have barely started to deal with the loss. People might be wondering what makes Cory's death so "special" that it deserves all the media attention compared to anyone elses's drug overdose? Well...nothing. Other than Cory was already in the media. But the lose of anyone in such a senseless way is equally as tragic. We can only hope that maybe the fact that Cory was such a public figure and so many of his fans were very young people....that they will learn something from this and his death will not have been a total waste.
