How to understand the provari crowd: Imagine you just spent $300 on a PV, because it's "Made in the USA", and yet you see PV's for $40 working just as well, what do you do?

Answer: You come on the ECForums, and hype up your purchase so that you can justify the $$$ you just shelled out :p

(A joke, by the way)

Holy cow, I step out to go to the gym and this thread blew up faster than a colon after taco bell.

Seriously though I really appreciate guys. I was pretty steamed about my SVD dying but its not the end up the world. I apologized for not quoting but y'all posted a bit to much for me to quote. Just wanted to say as far as devices go I like my SVD but I've got no delusions its the best device out there but as far as Porvari, Lava Tubes, Vamos, and the like I plan to try a little of everything.

Also I wanted to say thanks, not sure but messed up ..... I did in a previous life but the last two days have been nuts, so its nice to get on the ECF and have fun.

The funny thing about this thread is nobody really listened to the OP. He had his SVD for a month or so not 48 hours. The people who talk about Provari and being the end all device to vaping makes me laugh. It's not like you're buying a Rolls Royce , it's a couple of hundred dollars. I think most people could afford this.

I didn't buy one because I didn't like the fact there was no variable wattage and how long I was going to vape after I quit smoking. A buddy of mine on the east coast bought one and asked him how it was and he said "meh, it's okay". I bang my stuff around a lot. I've dropped my mod a few times already and it works fine. If it breaks I may or may not replace it. I was laughing at the Yugo comment though lol. I see it as a buick skylark. Doesn't look that great, but gets you there.

Was talking about provari not being vw and in watts how many volts does it go up when you change the watts up .5 or 1.0?
My friend that is the beauty of variable wattage. It is not set at a .3 volt step. It checks the ohms of your device, and varies the voltage accordingly. It gets closer to a variable current device (which I think is the point). Think of current as the "temperature" your coil is running at (not exactly true, but closer than the other choices).
So if you like 8.5 watts on one delivery device, if you plug in another (different resistance) it will be really close. No math, no learning curve, I think the variable wattage devices are wonderful for people that don't want to study electricity just to get a good vape experience.

Just sayn'

Re: ProVari, it's not like we're hating it but 1 Provari is like 5 SVD'S in price.
What really pisses me off about Provari is the $20 cap for 18650 batteries. How can you charge that much for the damn chunk of metal?!
Because it's made in America by American workers who make American wages lol

speaking of nuts....

I remember back in high school, in the shower after a football game, a senior was picking on a fresh men.

The freshmen got so mad, he took a wet towel, and went to slap the senior as hard as he could with it.

The freshmen was a small guy, and the towel, instead of hitting the senior's back, ended up hitting his ..., but the tip of the towel went between his cheeks, and slashed his ball-sack.

This had to be a ONE IN A MILLION SHOT, because the wet towel managed to actually split the sack clean open, and the guys balls fell out, and were hanging by the cords.

Nearly the whole damn school heard him yell , fall down, and faint.

It was so embarassing, the senior actually transferred schools.

Nah. Although it is true and quite obvious that products made in the USA are going to have a higher shelf price, because of the difference in wages here and whatnot......that still doesn't justify the price of the provari and its parts. I'm not saying the price is too high - it isn't. It is the law of supply and demand.....as long as people are willing to pay for it, I say go for it. What I am saying is the $20 caps are NOT because its manufactured in the USA.....you are paying for exclusivity. That cap could be manufactured and sold in the USA for MUCH cheaper......they CHOOSE to sell it for more.

Yea if I wanted to set my volts by .3 increments I would buy a vw mod but I would rather set it exactly as I want it instead.

Was talking about provari not being vw and in watts how many volts does it go up when you change the watts up .5 or 1.0?

After reading both of these replies, I'm not sure what to think.
Both Defy logic.

Any device that can set in .1 increments can be set to Whole numbers.

Just for reference, the eVic displays both Watts and Volts on screen at the same time. Even in Watts mode I can set exact Volts if I wish.:D No, this is not a bust on Provari. The device is excellent. Some of the users seem a bit strange though.

I tell you what though,,,,,I'm getting pretty sick of the provari vs the you name it argument,,,,,,,,,

and there seems to be some nastiness on both sides.

Seriously??????

Are we in Kindergarten?????? Everyone is different,,,,,Everyone has different needs,,,,,,Everyone's budget is different,,,,,,,,

what works for me may not work for you,,,,,,,,I can give you my opinion, take it for what it's worth,,,,,,,,,,but that doesn't mean my choice is the right choice for you.

Can we grow UP please???????

Jeez,,,,,,,,

I agree Holly
I am "kind of" sorry for my part in this evenings drama. Just tired of the "I spent more money than you so I am better than you thing".
When it comes down to the real part, we are all off cigarettes so it is all sorts of win for everyone involved.

Come Friday though I am all

Just have to figure out that micro coil and cotton wick thing >.<
