R2D2 5V USB Passthrough

Just thought I'd share what I did with my Saturday afternoon.

I have a Silver Bullet using 18650 batteries at 3.7v with LR 510 atty's and love it. But I had some standard resistence atty's and they didn't work very well on my Silver Bullet, so I thought I'd make a 5V passthrough that might "drive" the standard res atty's better. About 3 hours fiddling, mostly spent finding tools and now I have a table side R2D2 to drip with my standard res 510 atty's!

mothervap3r, all I have right not is an iPad to do video with. Not sure that would work real well. But now that I have "broken" in the standard res attomizer, it feels very similar to my Silver Bullet at 3.7V.

My original idea when I started thinking about this last night was to use a very small pen style flash light housing, but the button I got from Radio Shack (the smallest they had in stock) wouldn't work. So I dug through my kids old toy box and found R2D2. The hardest part really was finding all my tools and getting the holes drilled. I was pleasantly surprised that everything worked and that when I finished I hadn't ruined the original function of R2D2. I think this was a kids toy from McDonalds that we got years ago. Glad you like it. I have to say I wouldn't have figured this out if I hadn't watch some YouTube videos on how to connect the wires from the USB cable to button switch and a 510 atty connector.
