Thinking about PBS... they had a music special on that had War, the Family Stone, and Cheech & Chong (huh??)... but War only did a medley of some of their songs and left me wanting to hear the whole version of this one!!!

Let's get Funky now... :D

I saw War once when the were the back-up band for Eric Burdon... they were opening for Jethro Tull.
War came out and did an instrumental set that was just incredible!! Then Eric Burdon joined them, and after croaking out tobacco Road for about 20 min., actually got BOO'ed off the stage, with people shouting/chanting "Tull, Tull, Tull..." LMAO!!!

Thanks for this SK...I love Johnny and have for the first time I heard him in the 60's and was lucky I got to see him live some years back here in Denver and he was just great...this is the first I've heard of him dying. RIP Johnny

Let us bring this thread back to Life, to celebrate the Death of another guitar hero... R.I.P. Johnny!!

This performance was from a few months ago... he was on tour promoting his newest release, and he died doing what he loved best!!

His music will live on... :thumb:
