I vape using a sigelei 150 watt box mod and normally use my lg 18650 batteries. With radio shack closing near me, i couldn't help but purchase 2 18650 batteries for only $7. The packaging says its for use on devices that require high power for short periods of time which imo sounds like vaping needs. I'll post the exact product info when i get home. All i know on the top of my head is they are li ion 2000mah with protection . My question is, would this be a safe option to use as a backup if my primary batteries fail me? My charger is a D4. Any info helps thanks in advance!

As already stated make sure the chemistry is safe, and the drain is up to snuff. The C rating is crucial, as that determines the amp rating. General rule of thumb is, if you can't identify all of these factors, then it's not worth it, all 18650's are not created equal! Good luck!
If the batteries have or need a protection circuit that would absolutely not be "high drain" in context of vaping, insufficient as all hell in a 150 watt box mod, probably won't even fit, and most likely won't fire when the protection circuit conflicts with the APV electronics. So the answer would be:

Not sure what the batteries are rated at but here are the pics. General consensus is that its a no go....better safe than sorry. I'll check the site on the label

You can buy samsung 25r online for less than 6 bucks a pop on a daily basis, and can be had on sale periodically for $4.

those are great for low amp draw situations ( radios, small flashlites) but will be disappointing for vaping....

What I find discouraging is that EVEN WHEN we try to help members learn some show very little interest in doing so. We provide all the links and still we keep getting questions that are answered IF THE OP would just open the links and READ.
I for one DO NOT LIKE to have to SPOON FEED adults with all the answers! No learning happens when we do this!!!!

I would recommend getting some Samsung 25Rs.... They're very reasonably priced and amazing batteries. I use them in my HexOhm exclusively. Check out either illumn or LightningVapes for really good deals on them. I honestly wouldn't even bother with any other batteries on the market right now IMO.
In defense of the spoon feeding and repetitive questions, it took me forever to figure this stuff out. I was electricity challenged, and to some extent I still am. I read and read and searched and studied but I just couldn't get the battery stuff, ohms and watts and volts etc. to stick in my head or to understand. I would learn a bit, then go back and build on the information that I understood to learn some more.
I have batteries rated higher than my use for the most part. I am now into subohm and using regulated mods so the batteries will get a bit more of a work out. I have been using a Reo for about a year with 1Ω coils and all is well.
What I am saying is that even the best written blog may leave others scratching their head as it did me. I still read all the battery and power answers with interest because I seem to need refreshers constantly. And, believe it or not, I am not a dummy!
