Long story short I was on my way to a 11 hour shift and realized that I was out of juice. No big deal, I reached into my bag as I was driving to grab a bottle, and suddenly it dawned on me I WAS OUT OF juice!

NBD, I can stop at a gas station to pick up some juice, right? WRONG! I ended up picking up a random juice of menthol (only juice under 12mg they had) and it ended up horribly. When I eventually got home, I had to put in a new atty, and rinse out my subtank nano many times over before the smell was gone. Since I only started vaping seriously about a week ago, and part of the reason was that the subtank nano @ .5ohms had finally hit the spot, I realized that 1.2ohm was a no-go.

Needless to say, I ended up smoking 3 analogues today, where in the past week I have had none and no interest because my subtank nano had kept me comfortable.

I am going to buy an extra juice to leave in my bag permanently, along with many .5ohm attys, but I was thinking. Would it be silly to have a backup vape? Just in case I run out of battery, or something else crazy happens?

I love the subtank nano, so I would want to pick up another. Right now I am on an ego one 1100mah battery, but was wondering if I couldn't use this as my backup. Leave it in my bag so that I always had another one ready to go.

This leads me to,..... what battery (possibly of the variable sort) would be a good fit for another subtank nano? I have seen people recommend the eleaf istick 30, but I was also wondering if a subox nano would be coming along in non pink/purple?

tl;dr

I realize that if I am going to rely 100% on vapes, that I need a backup. I would like to make my current setup my backup, and pick up a new setup with a subtank nano to keep the attys the same/I love the flavor/feel @.5ohm. What would compliment it the best?

*edit Would the subox mini kit use the same atomizers as the subtank nano?

It's not silly at all to have a back up vape! The more, the better, lol. I have two. I just upgraded from my istick 50 watt with a subtank mini, to an Evic? (I think thats what its called, I'm bad with the names) And On my way home from work it died and that was very frustrating. but I have it charging now so my first one is what I have now. It sucks running out of juice! I try to at least have one little bottle w/me at all times, and try and have a full tank when I leave for work

I always keep a backup. Its a King mech mod clone with a Veritas clone rda. With its single coil, I'm only pushing 6-7 amps, so the battery lasts a long time and I don't fly through juice. The whole setup, with battery, was only $30 and it's foolproof and indestructible.

To answer your questions, yes the Nano and Mini share coils EXCEPT for the rba. This feature alone makes the mini more versatile. My out and about setup is an IPV Mini 2, Subtank Mini, Samsung 25r battery and a bottle of 6mg juice along with my mech mod, spare battery and bottle of 3mg juice (all juice and backups stay in my backpack).

This is what I find works for me because they can share batteries and I can keep charged backups.

The subbox mini kit is a good setup for all day. In the end it's whatever makes you all warm and tingly on the inside that you should go with.

You need a backup for your backup's backup, and better get a backup for that one too. :D

Seriously... feces occurs, and it seems to really enjoy vape gear because it gives the feces so many opportunities to occur. Don't let it occur to YOU! :D

I have a mechanical mod as a backup, along with 4 batteries, and who knows how many tanks and rdas. I bought the mech to build on mainly, but use it for my rdas when I'm around the house. So no, it's not silly, especially if your only other backup plan is smoking a cigarette, and you don't want to smoke cigarettes. Once you get into vaping, you'll realize that it's not the end of the world if you forget your setup at home. I don't even bring mine sometimes when I go out. Like when I went mountain biking I would bring a pack of cigarettes in case I wanted one at some point, but now I don't even bring a vape. I am down to 1.5mg from a pack and a half a day, and starting at 24mg. So it's possible to break the addiction it's just a process.

Well I feel a bit better about needing/wanting to buy another, because I DO NOT want to smoke another actual cig. It would also seem that getting a Subtank Mini oof sorts would make sense.

Would the Subox Mini be a good purchase, or would getting a Subtank Mini with another batt/bottom? be a better option for long term?

*edit

Adria, I am very near Lawrenceville, do you have a recommended B&M shop?

Hmm... for *right in* Lawrenceville, The Vaping Shack, it's in the Publix shopping center at Sugarloaf and Cruse Rd. Or, a little bit up 85, at Hamilton Mill, MadVapes is actually better, much better selection of pretty much everything, but that's what, 5-10 miles up 85. But I looooooove MadVapes, online or in store, just a great place.

If you go to MadVapes... it's in the strip right across from the Walmart at Hamilton Mill.

ETA: if you do check out Vaping Shack, the Hard Rock Vapor line of ejuice is really good.

In my opinion, backups need backups. My new primary rig is an iPV4s with a Kanger subtank V2. The backup is a MVP3 Pro with a Kanger subtank mini and the backup to that is an Eleaf iStick 30 watt with an Aspire K1.

There are brand new spare tanks and spare batters for the IPV4s. And I don't go anywhere without a full 15ml bottle of juice in my pocket.

Thanks again for the advice folks! I ended up picking up a Subox Mini from a local shop. I ended up getting a Samsung 25r along with it, and after priming and using it for an hour it's starting to feel real nice.

My next question would have to do with chargers. Right now I am using the USB cable along with the 1amp block from my ego one vape. How long is that supposed to take? After leaving it on for 45minutes it's still showing 0 bars after I disconnect. I want to buy an additional battery and actual battery charger, but was hoping for some recommendations.

(And Andria, I am closer to Tucker, but have family out in Lawrenceville. I will have to check those shops out, thanks!)

Last time I was in the Vaping Shack, he told me they're opening a new store in Snellville, might be closer to you.

WillyZee - you have backup mods? lol

Snoj - Andria nailed it. Backups for your backups' backups.

I have 10 mods that take replaceable batteries and a few ego batteries in case someone needs one.
I realized in my first week vaping that I should have extras because cancersticks suck.
I have about 5 rigs going at home because I like flavors and always take at least 2 with me when I leave.

extra mods, tanks, coils, batteries, juice, chargers, drip tips and of course...o-rings :p

It would never occur to me, to not have sufficient backup gear ... :D

Two complete Ovale Elips units, a fully charged PCC, a pass-thru cord in my car to charge the PCC from the cigarette lighter socket (oops, I meant the "power port"), and an old 510 case with four filled spare tanks and a couple of extra Type A atomizers ...

As Karl Malden so wisely advised, "Don't leave home without it !" ...

Oh very cool! this 'Don't just vape vape right' spot, any thoughts on it?

And hopefully someone has an idea about my charging situation.

I've heard those commercials, but they're way the hell out in Marietta, aren't they? I got no reason whatever to go west of the city! I don't even like to go TO the city -- L'ville is quite enough of a city for me; we've got traffic, gangs, homeless on the street corners, and more cops than you can shake a stick at!

As for charging -- I don't know that mod you have, but my experience is that pretty much all the USB-chargeables need *at least* 2 hrs to charge, maybe longer, depending on how low you run it. The lower you run it, not only does it take longer to charge, but it charges faster at the beginning of the charge cycle, generating more heat, decreasing the overall lifespan of the battery -- I try to never let any of mine get below 3.7 before plugging in, so it doesn't take so long, and so they don't get so warm.

And yes you still need more, you need 3-5 *functional* mods, if you really want to make sure and never give yourself an excuse to smoke -- the stuff can be unreliable, temperamental, and just plain annoying, but it's the best game going for staying *happily* free of coffin nails, so it's worth the investment. And it's all really a bargain, compared to the price of cigarettes! It's good to have some of both kinds, the internal and external batteries; though I mainly use my boxes nowadays, which are internal (3 Coolfire4's now, and 2 iStick30's), I have a couple of Sigelei Zmax's, and some batteries for them -- they're backup, but they work great, and they're dependable as everything.

I think you'd be better off buying some unflavored nic solution, and buying 1 or 2 flavorings to make DIY in an emergency. Nic can be stored in freezer pretty indefinitely, while pre-mixed ejuice may not taste great 9 months from now.

Also, an emergency vape is great. I made up a little kit for myself. (I do have another larger longer lasting backup kit). But this is just something that lives in the glove compartment. It is in something that floats, that is like a mini cooler as well, so air and heat don't really affect it. Been meaning to show off this (silly) but effective little gem for a while now..it's tiny:

I can probably fit another little battery in there. It's only enough for an hour or so right now, in case I get stuck on errand and no vape

I'm a tootle puffer, so this is fine for me.
