Random - Fruit Flies

Does anyone else attract fruit flies with then vape?
I thought this was something going on in my house, then I went out with a girlfriend, and we were sitting in the bar area for a bit, she started to vape, and she commented on the fruit fly following her too!

Is this just a Florida thing? LOL

i noticed this too.. it could be the flavoring, however nicotine as an insecticide so its not very smart of the fruit flies

I'm in Florida and have never had it happen. I get a few more mosquitoes, but no flies.

Yes I have! I thought it was random too. I'm in Texas. Wonder if it's the heat + humidity that is just making it more prevalent for them to be drawn to the flavoring, perhaps?

I've noticed a few fruit flies hanging out around my vape cupboard. I have tasty flavors like peach and banana in there right now so I'm sure that has some draw for them.

I've had a few fruit flies hanging around the last couple of months, had'nt really thought it had anything to do with vaping though, considering I've been doing it for over two years. This is the first time I've seen it mentioned here.

Florida here, I only get fruit flies if bananas have been brought into the house. They will appear in one day, even after I have washed the bananas in soapy water.

Ohh just great..We live in a fruit belt and every year like clockwork the fruitflies appear in droves. I'll have to find a suitable container to put my juices in when the flies appear cause anything sweet, they go after. Around here they don't appear until the fruit ripens and begins to fall inwhich is later in the summer, early fall.

I've got hose flies too. And I've never seen so many wasps before. I have two electric racquets. One outside by my pool (where wasps like to hang out) and one inside for the mosquitoes.
I hate those darn fruit flies.
When I lysol the door knobs, trash can, light switches at the end of the night, I always hope I can fog those f-ers out! LOL

Fruit flies are attracted to the CO2 emitted from decaying or fermenting fruit, just like mosquitos are attracted by the CO2 from you.

I'm a homebrewer. Keeping fruit flies out of the airlock on a freshly pitched batch of Summer Ale is a pointless exercise. They can't get in, but man will they die trying.

Oh and... Those naturally fermented French wines and Belgian ales... well, their flavors are unique for a reason.

Yes! Fruit flies here too. I thought I was losing my mind. I don't have any fruit they can get into, but I have a bunch of juice and flavorings. They can't get into them either but still. They are so annoying! I thought it was early for them but chalked it up to all the rain lately.

I have the same problem here in the UK too.
Because of the warm sticky weather we're currently having, there's loads of flying nasties about. Mossies, midgies, fruit flies, wasps and flies in general. Can't leave the windows open to cool the house down at night, it's a pain.

When I used to smoke the flies used to stay away, now that I vape mainly fruit liquids it must be some sort of aphrodisiac to them
