Ranking flavor production

So if you guys had to rank setups from most flavorful setup to least how would you do it? Dripping at the top using a mech down to the cigalikes? Where do clearos fit in? Better than cartos? All I've used are clearos and while I yearn to drip I just feel like I don't have the free time to build my own coils. I mean I realize that once you get good at it, you can bang them out but I'm sure you have to invest some time to get to that point. FYI my current setup is an mvp2 with a pt2 or iclear30s. Thanks!

Flavor is different for every vaper. The most intense flavor is from the drippers but with the new high wattage regulated mods it is becoming a race with the mechanicals. Some people are saying a slightly higher ohm coil with a higher voltage tastes better than a .0something in a mechanical.

Next you will find the rebuildables, especially with the higher voltage of the new regulated mods.

Under that are the tanks, aero, iclear, nautilus, and cartoss. You will find vapers that like each one of these.

And at the bottom the cigalikes.

Who knows what will happen in the next months? The 300 watt plug in?

I bet all answers will look something like this (best on top):

RDA with a 30 watt device
RDA with a mech
RBA
Top coil Clearos
Dual coil clearos
Cartomizers
Single coil clearos
Disposable cartos
cigalikes

And for PVs:
30 watt systems
20 watt systems
Mechanicals
Expensive regulated PVs
Cheap regulated PVs
eGos and the likes
cigalikes

I'd say that an MVP2 and iclear is a pretty good setup and possibly as good as it gets without rebuilding. Some might say you'll get better taste with a Nautilus, but I can't comment never having tried an iclear myself.

[edit]: darn, I was beat to it... and I agree that everyone likes something different. Whatever works for you is good, no need for a 500$ system.

I've heard the drip tips offer most for flavor, but I wasn't willing to invest the time or money in all that for what I was personally using an ecig for.

All I've used are clearos and I think they do pretty well! My kit came with a 2.4 coil and that's what I bought for replacements. I like the vapor being on the cool side, but I'm just doing it for the flavor, though.

Only thing I don't like about them is that it seems like mine stain. Like washing glass in a dishwasher with hard water. I haven't "washed" them in vodka like was suggested to me, though, only hot water.

So yeah, I agree, whatever works for you is what's good!

While I do like coiling, I know it isn't for everybody. (It isn't even for me a lot of the time; when I'm too busy I have a bunch of BCC clearos I fall back on because they're so easy to use). However, I WOULD recommend you learn how to re-wick your pt2 heads, that's much simpler than re-coiling and can make a HUGE difference.

"Ranking" is difficult overall, because different people have different experiences with certain types of heads. Where would one rank carto-tanks or genesis-style heads? Some people love them (because they've learned how to use them effectively) but a lot of people hate them (even after trying very hard). And personally, I prefer cheap all-plastic BCC heads over the protanks because I think the metal up-tube and tip on the pt's cools down the vapor way too much. But I know I'm in the minority there. The iclear30 was one of my least favorites (but the 30s is a very different design from the 30) although I liked the iclear 16 fairly well.

Try out a few different types and see what works best for you.

I personally prefer Cartos to clearos, hands down. Every clearo I've had either muted the flavor substantially and/or gurgling/dry hit me to death. The Protank 2 is the only thing similar that was any good for me and I love it. It's also great because you can replace or even rebuild the heads. (since I see you have one of these already, I HIGHLY recommend the Airflow Attachment. it'll turn your Protank 2 into a whole other world of awesome)
Cartos are great, to me. Some people don't like them... but I think they are super convenient when you're on the go. There is little to no tweaking that is needed, unlike any other attachment you may have, out and about.
Dripping, I think everyone would agree, would be the best with flavor because there is less "medium" between you and the coil. It's pretty much direct. How well that flavor is depends on many things, though. The wick used, the coil, the device, the wattage/voltage, the juice... A lot of factors. Dripping is ok but definitely not my preferred method because I'm lazy and want instant gratification.
Tanks are ok but are finicky too. By tanks, I mean the rebuildables, such as the Kayfun, Taifun, etc. They can be great, but again it depends on all the factors displayed for the "drippers" and some additional factors such as air flow, tank construction.... Again, something that takes a lot of fiddling. I do like my Taifun clone though. It's nice to have variety.

All of these are based on my opinion and experience of course. TO give more information about how I vape, I tend to like 50% VG or higher, so more on the "thick" end. Throat hit makes no difference to me. I like clouds but am not a cloud-chaser. I am a flavor chaser... All about the flavor. Good luck to you.

gaud, barely remember the formative clearo/changeable stages of my vape. My main go to vape is a rba tank system vaped at 30 watts or more, whether it's mech or reg driven. Must say it's a toss up, a quality, well built tank system will vape as well, and sometime better than many drippers. But there are some drippers that have captured my vape heart, such as the Magma rda. But then not your ordinary rda, and I do vape it in the 90 watt range, and still haven't maxed out it's potential.

Most drippers are a pia to use on the go, and always have to refill. The magma holds almost 2 ml of juice in it's well, so it will last me the trip to work, and one fill will last for my 20 minute vape break.

I love everything vape. Have been strictly an rba vaper for 10 months now. Enjoy both mechs and high amp regulated. They both have their pros and cons, strengths and weaknesses, but now both can provide as many watts one wants to vape at. That is if you can get your hands on one. :D

LOL

I'd say

dripping
cartos
clearos

+1 On this.

I've found I get consistently the best flavor with a bottom feed dripper with very short wick tails. With a lot of top (regular) dripping I put longer tails to soak up the most juice between drips but the flavor drops off after the first 2 or 3 hits.

Don't underestimate the cartos, there are some good brands out there that can give much better flavor than clearos.

Great point about the drip tips. It's so easy to fall down the flavor chasing rabbit hole. Personally I use small chamber bf drippers like the igo-s or RM2, my wire is either Mundys magic or twisted 30g duals, for the wick I use Rayon or ReadyXWick, then it's just a matter of pairing your favorite juice with the correct ohm (watts) and of course trying different drip tips.
