Great story!!! I'm glad I read this. Now my day can start with a smile; smiling all the way to church. *thumbs up*

lol i had this girl stay over a month ago or so and i had my PVs sprawled out across my disaster of a room. Shes like "oh is that an e-hookah? I've tried those electronic cigarettes but they were never enough to make me want to stop smoking." I was like... yeh. (screw it, right?) she was like "well do you have any cigarettes because I'm gonna crave them all night & I know hookahs dont have any nicotine. (wrong... but.. screw it, right?) i was like "oh, well this one does" she was like "well I dont use hookahs so I guess I'll go without" (LOL? i wonder how some people manage to put one foot in front of the other sometimes) I was like "okay well if you need some nic, u can try it.." lol. so she never really pulled the mod I was using out of my hands all night, which was pretty cool.

Sorry. Minor rant, here.

To everyone: this is not a hookah. It is not supposed to recreate a hookah. This is not shisha. This is not candied tobacco. There is no combustion involved.

Please stop comparing this to "hookah". This is a healthier alternative to smoking. And although the flavors are delicious, this isn't a hookah fad.

I'm sick of everyone comparing this to hookah bars. It is not.

I'm firmly in the camp that e-cigs should be considered a healthier alternative to smoking. If you dabble in it for the flavors and such, good, great, whatever, but don't call it an electronic (or, sic, "electric") hookah.

Please disassociate e-cigs from all those other "other" things. THESE ARE NOT THOSE!

This makes me angry.

It really shouldn't make you angry....and don't blame them. People call things all SORTS of weird stuff.

The ONLY reason it makes YOU angry.....is because people associating it with Hookah are going to help those who want to pass laws to regulate it, or make it illegal.

Blame those ANTZ for this. Blame the government. Blame the idiots who are USING those people who mis-label things as fuel for THEIR agenda.

Honestly, if we KNEW beyond a doubt that e-cigs weren't in trouble, we wouldn't care WHAT others called them.

I agree, it sucks that people using the word "hookah" associated with e-cigs will spin e-cigs in a negative light, and work against us. However, people are people. They ALWAYS mis-label, and misunderstand things. I'm not upset with them. I'm upset that forces are working to take our freedoms away, in EVERY way they can.

There's a drive-thru subway i went through recently.. and I'm vaping away at the window waiting for my food.
Subway lady: "uh.. dat a ......?"
Me: "it's an electronic cigarette. "
Subway lady: "grrl.. dat look like a ......!"

I drove home so confused and then realized it is true.. google is a friend.. it let me know my PV isn't trying to solicit sex. That's a relief.

Here in the Middle East, at least in East Jerusalem, shisha is a very acceptable social experience. Lots of very respectable people who don't smoke cigarettes will occasionally have shisha in a cafe. So my Arab friends don't find my setup strange or exotic, just really cool. In West Jerusalem, it's a bit different - the young North American tourists buy shisha to be 'exotic', which I find annoying, and try to pretend they're inhaling other products....idiots.

I was sitting in a cafe last week in one of the East neighbourhoods, with two ex-students, young women now in their early 30s, and they were having shisha and I was enjoying my iTaste... They said, "Oh! great! a portable, electronic shisha!" I found it very funny. I even made up a starter set for the mother of one of them, who is a heavy smoker like I used to be, and wants to be able to spend more time with her baby grandson.

They just thought it was incredible and amazing that I had managed to stop smoking.

Honestly, my first experience with hookahs and shisha was back in 1999 at a friend's house. I smoked it once then, and that was it. It dropped completely off the radar. No one in my circle of friends, or even my periphery, mentioned it again.

I heard all about oxygen bars and Woody Harrelson, but I never heard about hookahs and shisha. Then e-cigs take off and everyone calls it "hookah". I had absolutely no idea it still existed or was even popular. How lame am I?

EDIT: My FIRST first experience with hookahs was Jabba the Hutt and the Caterpiller from Alice in Wonderland.
