That video was sickening. I wish somebody would smack that lady who kept saying it was "scary"
The kind of thinking in that video is scary to me.
A look inside that woman's nightstand would probably scare most of us as well, I bet!
That Dr probably prescribes all kinds of BP poison, but he's an expert on nicotine. "Gives you heart disease and cancer.." What a tool.

technically/literally an electronic hookah pen IS an ecig... using an electronic personal vaporizer (no matter what ppl associate it with) is NOT smoking or hookahing (hookahering? LOL)
there is no burning, there is no tobacco/shisha, there is no combustion, there may or may not be nicotine.
I think the reason most ppl (that don't smoke/never smoked) associate an ecig with hookah is the flavor/pleasant smell (if any) and unless it is a cigalike it doesn't LOOK like a cigarette

I think the real problem is that ppl think that true hookah isn't smoking..which it really is and you don't see ppl dragging around their octopus to get their hair done or outside of walmart or a non hookah bar/grill LOL
so vaping and electronic hookahing IS the same thing....just different marketing imo

My daughter, her boyfriend, and my son decided to do something unique for me for Father's Day. They took me to my first hookah bar. It was my first time using tobacco in 14 months. To be honest, the experience was not far off from vaping. The bar had an outdoor patio where we sat enjoying the hookah. Of course, I had my Provari with a cartotank with me, and other bar patrons looked upon it as a curiosity, but none asked questions.
Hookah bars seem to be popular, there are at least three within walking distance of each other near the university in my city.
During conversation with one of the surgeons that I work with, the topic of e-cigarettes came up. I didn't know that he used them, or that he was even a smoker. He said he had recently purchased a cigalike kit while on vacation. I took him to my locker to show him my Provari and glass cartotank, and he said, "That's a G** D*** hookah pipe!"

That's what I thought after watching the video - just ecigs branded with a different name.
I couldn't understand the over-reaction from the panel on the show, except that they were seeing it as hookah with nicotine marketed to kids. They weren't seeing them as like an alternative for smokers - like ecigs are.

Same here. Even the stogy smoke shop down town finaly added a couple of couches and hookah. On the other hand, E-cigs are still well under the radar in this college town.
To me it's not an e-hookah unless it actually looks like a proper hookah, and it's never an, um, analog hookah. I don't really care if the term e-hookah catches on, what bothers me is that people seems to think that an e-cig and PV and vape pen and e-hookah are not all the same thing. I worry that there's stupid people out there that just assume "this has nicotine and this doesn't" without reading the labeling on what they're buying. Some people aren't bright, they'll argue that their gas station "vape pen" is not fundamentally the same as a disposable Blucig. Maybe some of those people actually work behind the counter and don't bother to check IDs. I also worry that people use this term because PVs are less harmful than cigarettes, cuz I've met many people that seem to think shisha is not bad for you.
I always loved the social aspect of just sitting around and sharing a hookah with friends, but I was a smoker and never assumed it was any better for me than cigarettes. I grew up around a few hookah users, and it was always presented as tobacco smoking, not for children but more dignified than sharing a cigarette on a porch. I've met several younger people, as in just old enough to smoke legally, that seem to think they aren't harming themselves at all since it's water cooled or some nonsense. Some think non-tobacco shisha or cigarettes are 100% safe, even though logically your lungs don't want to inhale burning sage and rosehips. I think the comparison comes from vapor and shisha in a hookah usually being both flavored and not something that will choke a non-cigarette smoker. I am fine with people enjoying shisha, I probably will miss that more than cigarettes in the long run, but I'm not comfortable with people thinking since vaping is safer than cigarettes and e-cigs are called e-hookahs, then hookahs must be just as safe as vaping.

Agreed, people come up to me and ask "Oh is that one of those electric hookahs!?!"
lol one of my delivery drives likes to poke fun at me and continues to call my ego spinner a portable hookah
he at least understands that it is nothing like smoking and nothing like a cigarette so out of respect refuses to call it an e-cig [edit]he just doesn't know what to really call it and well ya know gotta poke fun at people...everyone know's i've got a sarcastic sense of humor
