Finally got a reo grand and some batteries together...my first mod. Sweet vape so far (with boge and dual cartos so i haven't really squanked) I'm enjoying the 3.7 v (after a year at 3.2) smooths out the vape considerably. Better vapor and taste then the exact same carto on the ego batts.

However there is an irritating rattle in the door. Appears to be about 1/32 inch too small and it slides easily off the magnets and falls down at the slightest pressure.

is this typical? is there an easy fix? should i ask Robert for a new door? Could it be the case (hope not).

The size is going to take some getting used to, but i remember i went through that switching from the mega 510 batts to the ego and i expected that. But the rattle and door opening have me a bit concerned.
dropped an email to robert but since it's the middle of the night in maine i don't expect a response. Any night owls or folks on the other side of the world with comments?

Does your grand have 2 magnets?

They are a little loose and do rattle by design, but shouldn't fall off. The quick fix is to wrap electrical tape around the battery and make a handy little tab. The tab makes it easier to put the battery in and out of the REO and charger. When in the Reo face the tab out and it stops the rattle. All my batteries now have tabs on them.

You could also put a very, very thin strip of electrical tape along the inside bottom of the door. You have to change it every so often, but it works.

Yes, it's common, and easily fixed. Rob (the wizard behind the Reo) advises that you wrap a short (3 inches) piece of electrical tape around the battery. This not only takes up the extra space eliminating the rattle, it provides a handy "tab" that makes the battery a snap to extract.

I used it for a while, then switched to using a fairly thick piece of ribbon. Either one should fix you right up. And welcome to Reoville, fellow Reonaut! :)

ETA: Ratz! I thought I was gonna be the first to respond. I *knew* continuous vaping on my mini would cost me something :)

I'm having no problem at all popping the battery out--but might be willing to try that if necessary. do you think the door rattle is common--just part of the design, or something i should look into with rob?

It's a normal thing mine doesnt rattle at all with the tape on it.

My solution was to make a skin for them....'cause I like to play dress-up. :)

Oh, and in the process of making one, I heard the funniest story. I was buying some black glittery vinyl- full on drag queen sorta stuff at Joann's, and the women who was cutting it said a woman came in the other day and bought 3 yards of it. She said her husband went on vacation- all by himself, and said "by the time I get back you'd better have done something to re-cover my tractor seat". So she bought the drag queen vinyl. It made my weekend. :)
