I've experienced some similar irritations from CE-4 clearos and especially my Kanger T-3. I think the culprit (in my case) is a flooded atomizer which spits (sputters really) un-vaped juice up into my mouth. I've also noticed that there is usually a pretty loud crackling sound if I fire my mod (away from my mouth) and with the T3, I can actually see a little "fireworks-like" spray of e-juice shooting out of the drip tip. With my CE4s, I've found that loosening the screw-down driptip and tipping the apparatus slightly, releases the juice that builds up in the bottom of DT trapped by the white top of the atomizer region. The clearos tend to flood if they've been sitting on their sides (on the passenger seat in my car). I haven't found a fix for the T3 and have shelved it. If you notice a sweet taste (for fruity ecigs) on the tip of your tongue or lips, this may be what is happening.

If you're vaping PG-heavy juice, and you're getting some of the actual liquid on the tissues in your mouth/throat, well PG is hygroscopic, meaning that it will pull water out of those tissues and dry them severely, which would probably dry and then irritate the ever-loving heck out of them. (not an MD, but a chemist)

Thou shalt drink water while vaping is like one of the ten commandments of vaping I've learned, up there with Thou shouldest always have backup and Thou shall NEVER take the name of ProVari in vain ;)

Seriously though, you might want to check out a Kanger Mini-Tank or other bottom coil rig (T3 not recommended though).

I think you may be right about the cheap equipment being responsible for getting a bit of juice in my mouth. I am waiting for a Provari, a carto tank, and a Kanger Protank in the mail, so that may solve everything.

I've heard quite a few new vapers complain about sore mouths and such.

I know that one of the side effects of quitting smoking is sores in the mouth. I am in no way a dentist or doctor, but I have visited many. I learned this when I tried quitting for the very first time using a nicotine inhaler. I got sores in my mouth and went to the doctor freaking out, thinking the inhaler was the culprit. My doctor told me it was from quitting cigarettes. It has something to do with the amounts of bacteria in your mouth and also with your body releasing built up toxins. It can be quite uncomfortable but will pass.

Here...Read this...http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...hen-quitting-tobacco-changing-ecigarette.html

Hi - I have gone over that list... read it a while ago so I'd be "ready" if I experienced any of the symptoms. But I've been fortunate and I really haven't had any of them. Probably because I was a light smoker - 5 cigarettes a day was usually the max for me.

What I got yesterday was a light chemical burn on the inside of my mouth, not sores as described for quitters. It was definitely a result of the vaping I did. The best way I can describe it is if you drank some hot chocolate that was too hot and it burned your tongue... all over. And a bit on the roof of your mouth. It's not painful, but it's worrisome. And it tastes like chemicals.

Well the good news is that you probably aren't having an issue with the menthol aspect of your juice since you were able to vape it successfully previously. It sounds like you would like to have something with a menthol twist correct? Did you smoke menthol's when you were smoking?
You are correct - I was a menthol smoker in my "former life" (LOL two weeks ago), and I was definitely looking for a way to replicate the smoking experience as closely as possible when I first quit. However, I really didn't like the menthol juice I got that much, and I'm ready now to spread my wings and try all sorts of flavors - find something that really does it for me.

My suggestion first however, would be to eliminate the last juice that you vaped and only use one of the other three tomorrow and see how that goes. I'm hoping it all goes well which would indicate it was probably just something in that one juice. I tend to think that might be the case, it at least seems the most likely, although to be certain, you'd need to do the same with the other two juices as well. I'd be interested in hearing the results!
None of the juices that I tried yesterday knocked me off my socks flavor wise, so I think I can donate them at a meet up or something and keep moving forward in the juice quest. But I agree with you that from here on out, I need to vape a single new juice at a time so I can know with certainty what causes my symptoms.

Don't let this bother you too much, it's just a little bump in the road, that's all! :)
Thanks for the encouragement - I am NEVER going back to analogs and that's not even a question. From here on out, I'm just on a fun journey to keep making vaping better and better. Wish there weren't uncomfortable bumps in the road, but there are and I'll live with it and never go back. The thought of smoking a real cigarette disgusts me and that makes me SO HAPPY!

IM just going to say I cant say what Im thinking and not get in trouble;-)

LOL I I re-read it and see what you mean. Lots of unintentional innuendo in vape-talk.

I didn't understand. I thought you were in pain. Reading this sounds more like what we call "vaper's tongue." It comes from taste bud overload. Never in your life have your taste buds gotten the workout they're getting vaping. Most people don't eat that much period but certainly not such high-flavored foods nor the intensity of so many artificial flavors (which are powerful.) Have you ever used an artificial flavoring and accidentally put too much in there? Two things can happen.. it can be bitter and taste nothing like its supposed to or you actually taste nothing at all and that's because... the phrase is... it "blew your tastebuds." When you said it was like a heat burn from hot cocoa, that's the same thing. Your tastebuds go numb so to speak. Extreme Ice is.. well... extreme! I've never tried it but have heard from others who have. Its not for the faint of heart for sure. LOL I've tried many, many, menthols from other vendors and I've DIYed it and Mr E makes the absolute best menthol. His menthol is very different from Extreme Ice. I would try it in light and if not enough go to med or full but full is pretty strong. Back to your problem though, give it a few days. Drink alot or swish alot to keep the tastebuds hydrated while they recover. Elimination-wise, drop Extreme Ice first and give it a few days. Hope that helps. BTW, you renew tastebuds every 10 days so no permanent damage and your new tastebuds will be used to the new hightened requirements being placed on them. As always these are JMHOs.

Edit: Oh, an I'm pretty sure this is what you're dealing with also because of the "chemical" taste. The buds just have gone haywire from overload. They'll recover... not too worry... happens all the time when just starting. It doesn't happen later on but might off and on for about a month if you keep vaping during that time. And even then, it goes away overnight. Your buds comes out of shock as you sleep.. giving them a break.

THANK YOU!!! So glad to hear there's an explanation and it will pass quickly. And you are right - I can't taste s**t today :p

Im currently suffering Quitters Flu. I'm 17 days without analogs. A few days ago, my throat got sore and I was hacking up some flem. I had a few pimples pop up on my face and had some night sweats. Now I feel it going away slowly. I switched up my juice vendor thinking it was related to my juice base ratio. I read that quitting can make you sick and these are all symptoms. I also over-vaped the other night drinking. Today I coughed up huge globs of dark gross stuff from my lungs. I know that wasnt build up from vaping. It was build up from 9 years of cigs.
