yeah, I just see him moving it with his poking tool but doesn't seem to do anything when I do it

Have you tried putting a bend in the top (positive) lead, right next to the coil? That helps with top-coil hotspots. If that doesn't work, you just kind of poke at the wick and coils, and move the coils around, right at and below the hot spot. You might need to work the hotspot down the coil until the whole thing lights up evenly.

Actually, that was one of the better videos. Every one I have seen so far get them to work almost perfectly right away. If your learning seeing with no problems really does not help much. The trick is learning to correct for beginner mistakes. Yours shows it like mine come out at first. I can see basically how you adjusted. Thanks!
Thanks for that....I never get one 100% out of the gate....that was one of my least fiddling I had had in a while.
I made a new coil today 32 kanthal twisted 4/3 wrap around the same wick and it was about as easy as in the video

I'm having the same problem where the top coil by the top of the positive is glowing bright red before anything else. How did you fix that?
What is happening is when you tighten the top screw it pulls the top coil a bit so its tighter around the wick.
if you want that video you can see I have the top tight and I kinda press the wick toward the center

when you poke at the coils you will see spots that get really bright. that is basically where you need to poke more..
try moving the coil up or down a bit when firing it and see if the color changes.

it can be a real pita but once you get a few it will be easy from there on out.
well easier.

So, I got my mesh in and I'm working with it. I only have tried the 400 so far. This stuff is far easier to work with that the 325, it is softer and rolls much easier. First wick came out beautifully and it is much easier to make smaller or larger.

The strange thing was that I got the coil working very nicely. When I added liquid the hotspot appeared at the top between the coil and the positive post and I had to start all over. Not sure how that happens but that is consistently what I am experiencing. Any thoughts on that? I have gone through a tank of liquid in the AGA-T now trying to re-adjust - it's a pain to work with once the liquid is on it.

I think you'll find that the 400 mesh works much better. I had barely acceptable results with the mesh that came with my DUD.

One thing that I found that really helps is to fold the edge of the mesh. Before you roll your wick, fold about 1/8" under so when your wick is rolled, you have a nice smooth edge with no stragglers. Essentially making a hem on the edge.

I also wind the coil around a rod, but the key is to make sure that your wick is pretty round and the same diameter as the rod/drill bit. I install the coil first and make sure the rod slides out easily and that the coil is straight. Fire the coil a couple times before you put the wick in. The wick should easily slide into the mounted coil, but not be too loose. Check the ohms before you put the wick in, then after. If it's the same, you should not have any shorts.

With the wick in, fire it and see if there are any hot spots, nudge as necessary to eliminate, fill and vape!

Do you put liquid on the wick/coil when filling or just fill?
