Looking for an rba with 2-3 ml capacity. I want to use silica wick, I like a loose draw, like a carto. Looser than t2 and 3 if possible. Without breaking the bank, this is my first rba but no stranger to rebuilding clearos. Really want one for the road that won't leak a lot if wicked right. I'm Looking at DV right now. Aga hydra and tag as well as others. Sounds like hydra has more flexibility. But I want other options to look at too. Want to stay on the lower cost end. Phoenix clone, A8, ect.

Great question, I was just getting ready to post the same thing. If you don't mind me adding; Which tends to last longer: Wick & Wire or Mesh and wire? What is the better of the two in terms of cost of ownership for the future.

RBA tanks that use silica wick are getting harder to come by. I've been thinking about getting one also and looking around, but most RBAs being sold now are genesis style(not sure if this is the right usage of this, I'm referring to rolled SS mesh wicks). The two that I'm looking at right now are the Drunker tank(DV used to have these, but they're not on the site now) and something like this: NEW SMOKtech Hyper SRT II Spring-Loaded Rebuildable Tank 4.0ml [gv-SMOKtechHyperSRTII] - $19.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more which seems to have many names.

So many choices.. I was looking at drunker tank too, I thought DV had it before. Wanted to see those splitfires again too. I keep looking at that pali v4 but seems not much information on it. I think i also read it has a tight draw. stormys is the only place that carries it. Wonder why?

I'm looking to use silica wicks not mesh.

The AGA T2 and T+ both have the option for both, although I have read that it works much better with the SS Mesh wick.

The draw on the drunker is on the tight side but not too bad for long slow pbusardo type draws. On the plus side it has that great ceramic cup to contain the heat, giving it a nice warm vape without cooking your juice in the process. At the end of a tank my juice is the same color and tastes the same as when it was filled.

Another device that I'm really liking is the dream 804. It vapes extremely well, and really pops the flavors...I had to cut my nic from 12 to 6mg when I started using it. The draw is too airy but it's fixable. It only holds about 1.5 ml and refills at around 1 ml. If that's not a deal breaker for you then take a hard look at it. If you like bottom coil clearos then you'll love the dream as it outdoes them for both vapor and flavor.

Good luck on what ever you decide and happy vaping. :vapor:

The AGA-T2/T+/T work pretty well for silica and have extra holes for more dangling bits in the tank. I've seen a lot of U-Wicks done in silica with single coil and dual coil; they seem to work pretty well.

The airhole is easy to open up to adjust your draw on it as well, just get a drillbit that fits the current hole and wiggle it around while the drill is going ;)

EDIT- Also the IGO-L is intended for silica, is easily adjusted for airflow, and holds a fair amount of liquid depending on how much silica you cram in there. I've had about 45-60 minutes worth of vaping between drips and can usually just shoot 1-1.5ML in there at a time.

Drinkers out then so sick of tight draw even t3 is too tight for me.. I forgot to mention the dream tank , its at the top of the list.. almost ordered it. I have concerns with filling and leaking. Also would really like v2 with higher capacity.

Vapor Bank has the Dream BT804 for the lowest cost I've seen but I think they may have gone up recently. I tell ya what, I never considered a dripper until someone recommended the IGO-L. Silica (or cotton) & Kanthal, full mech virtually unbreakable, and even though there is no tank, it holds approximately 1 ml. They are easy to build, no air tube to get flooded, no tank to crack or break but still holds almost as much as the Dream, is only 20mm diameter and about the same height without a drip tip. I think if I can find one I'm gonna scoop it up!

I don't know if you follow vapor joe but he has been raving about this genesis clone complete with spare parts (cheap mesh & wire, but some replacement parts too) for $8 shipped! Yes they are in China but only 5 to 7 days delivery, I've waited longer than that from PA to FL! I couldn't help but order 1 for that little $ amount. I also ordered pre-rolled and oxidized mesh from Lite Cig Usa at $1.25 a pop, and when I calculated cost of just buying the sheets, it came out to about a quarter more per wick but saves you an hour of cutting, boiling, rolling, and oxidizing so I ordered 10. Right at $20 got a full Geni set-up good to last several months.

EDIT: Clone is from fasttech

it is actually possible to wrap a silica wick on a genesis style atomizer, it just takes some dexterity and patience. This video was super useful to me, its a little messy but works on pretty much any genesis style atomizer that has enough room in the top cap. I've tried it on a ZAP, works rather well. Haven't tried it on a cobra since the top cap is a lot smaller... but it's worth a shot.
