hi guys, i have a trident atomizer paired with the private v2 mod. i've just started dripping for about 2 weeks and i'm in love with it, the taste, the hit, the smoke, everything is better. anyways i've been building my wick, i use 2mm silica wick and 28g kanthal, i currently do single coil in the trident. i usually do 2-3 full wraps of kanthal over the wick, i oxidized them with butane torch. i made sure i connect everything evenly and correctly, but somehow my wick only taste good for the first day, on the second day it would start to have a disgusting burn taste that gave me a major headache and i would throw up if i keep on vaping. i've heard from some people that they don't change their wick for a week or two, i keep having to change my every day or every other day. did i do something wrong? or is it the silica and the wire that i have are no good? please help me, i am an interstate trucker and i only get to be home one day a week, so i would really hoping my wick would last at least a week so i don't have to keep changing it. also, is there a good place to buy silica, kanthal and rebuildable accessories at a reasonable price? i've found Thehouseofvapor, but seems like they outta stock on most of their kanthal. any tips will be greatly appreciated! TIA

2-3 full wraps.. That's not very many. I would move up to 5 at least and make them Closer together.

Secondly all you need to do I'd wash and dry burn your coil. I do it In The truck all the time when I'm in a bind. Rinse it dab wick dry dry burn your coil till it glows nicely a couple times and burns all the gunk off. Rinse it again dry and burn till starts to glow drip your juice and
You have a clean wick and coil. That's the maintenance you have to do on a regular basis.

not real familiar with the Trident, using a Russian my self, which uses a silica wick. I have done a hybrid wick wrapping 400 SS mesh around the center of the silica wick, so that the juice is burning on the SS and not the silica. Did this in my Quest to get excellent clean favor while getting the great wicking of the silica. So far its been vapping like a champ for a week without touching it. Going to do a figure 8 build next with the SS mesh wrap and see how that goes.

Do a search on YouTube for Trident wicks, Trident Hybrid wicks, Trident micro coils, and you should find lots of ways and opinion's on how to get That Vape. lol then once you see one that says that makes sense, I can do that, give it a try and play some more.

I not going to mess with micro coils, don't like the idea of changing the cotton every day or so, I want to build a coil that will vape like a genesis, and not have to be messed with for weeks at a time. Feel that I am on the right path.

Only time I get nasty tasting burnt flavor on my build is when it runs dry. I just fill it back up and all is well with the world. Usually can tell when its about to turn, so will quickly add fluid before it does the nasty. lol

howdy everyone, it's been over a month, anyways i have tried out a couple of different things and i found that cotton worked best for me, i'm doing dual micro coil, then i thread cotton thru the coil. the cotton wick and taste excellent. when i need to change it, simply pull out the cotton, dry burn my coil a couple time, let it run under water then dry burn it again, bam! completely like new. so i'm very happy with the result right now. thanks to everyone who have helped me. you guys are great and very helpful. my next thing is DIY juice, i'm currently dripping bamskilicious Lychee, it's so damn good and damn expensive, cost me $70 a week. just too crazy. have anyone try out Bamskilicous Lychee here?
