The board maxes out at either 5 or 6 amps (can't recall which offhand) and will give you a little screen icon indicating an atomizer short (there's a pic of it somewhere in the ginormous Darwin thread)

As Drew said, though, I wouldn't push it too far as the device will shut down to protect itself under certain conditions and may then need to be serviced to get it running again. If you go too low with your ohms for the wattage you're set at, then it'll just push out straight battery voltage. IMHO a good rule of thumb would be to keep your resistance within a range where you are still allowing the board to boost the battery voltage, this way you're not overly stressing anything (either the board or the batteries) :2c:
