I believe if the batteries are wired in series the mAh stays the same i.e.

========== =========== ==========
3v-700mAh + 3v-700mAh = 6v-700mAh
========== =========== ==========

in parallel

========== =========== ==========
3v-700mAh + 3v-700mAh = 3v-1400mAh
========== =========== ==========

been a long time since I got my ham radio license, so check first...

djabsynth,

I think you might be right. I remember high school physics where we'd wire cells in series until we met the desired voltage and then wired them in parallel until we reached the desired capacity.

Haven't received my Prodigy yet, but I'm hoping that 5v at 700mah blows my mind so much I won't even completely drain my battery at the end of the day (which I can do in about 6 hours of moderate vaping on a Janty Stick V2).

I just read this thread, and to make sure I understand:

I bought the Prodigy V1 (510). It apparently comes standard with the switch with resistor. True?

If I wanted to use the 18650 battery with this, I can. But I won't get the full 3.7V power and will also not realize the full battery life potential. But I won't destroy my Prodigy by using this battery. True?

If I want to take full advantage of the long battery life of that battery, I should order the switch housing without the resistor.

My main confusion is I thought the base Prodigy included the switch without the resistor. But it's actually the other way around.

This is the way I understand it. You get the switch with the resistor and 2 R123a batts that produce 6 volts. Steve believes that 5 volts is the 'sweet spot' for best flavor and best vapor production, therefore this combination.
The trade off is shorter time on the batts before needing to put in a fresh set, but best vap'n experience available. The 18650 is a much much longer lasting bat but the resistor cuts it below 3.7 which will make the Prodigy under perform compared to any/most e-cigs at 3.7. Therefore, Steve offers the switch without a resistor thereby restoring 3.7 volts, equaling other ecigs performance but out lasting their battery time by far.
