i just got an rda and recoiled the existing wicks with 2/3 wrap of 30awg. it vapes okay, but would like to make it better. I have a phoenix that i bored the air hole to 1/16th. I was thinking of making an additional hole on the rda where the coil is to maybe the next smaller size to 1/16th. I am looking for any advice before i do. thx

I bored out a 1/16 hole just under the top ring in front of the coil and put a dual coils 3/4 wrap of 30awg one the 8 silica wicks it came with @ .7-.8 ohms. Now thats what im talking about. Vapor train! I'll eventually change the wicks to 3mm.

Thx for the tip....i'd love to hear from anyone else:toast:

I am currently waiting on an octopus to arrive and have done quite a bit of research on it and this seems to be a constant theme with then. They work okay right out of the package but most drill extra or make the existing airhole bigger for better performance. I guess that's why we ate called modders :toast: I'll post what I do with mine after it comes and I play a little with it.

Just drilled mine tonight to 1/16, no additional holes. I enlarged all 3 holes - one in the cap, one on the side that lines up with the hole in the cap, and the hole right under the coil. Personally, anything more than that I feel would be way too airy. Vapor production definitely increased, but I feel I lost some flavor. Could just be the new coil I made too, 4/5 wrap of 30 gauge for ~1.6 ohms single coil wrapped around 4 x 2mm wicks. Probably still needs to break in. The coil it replaced was well "seasoned." I have some 28 gauge and a mech mod too, but currently my AGA-T+ occupies that spot, and it ain't movin' anytime soon lol.
