I'm actually about to trade for one, still on the fence as to whether I want it. It's a beautiful piece imo but I'm not sure how I will like it, I have a tendency to get nice things and not like them. But we'll see!

I'm the same way

:looks over at No Pity and Snapdragon 1.5 on the shelf:

HOWEVER, I am really digging this one. Plus the regular fill method, for when not squonking, is genius too. I think you'll like it!

Have you squonked with it yet too?? That's really the only thing I'm interested to hear, I don't really do regular drippers anymore. I've been converted to the dark side.

I am so there with you. I think the "nicer" the thing, the harder I am on it. I have largely been underwhelmed by "high-end" gear. Too often I get it and realize I didn't buy a thing, I bought into some BS.

Don't like that feeling.

Pretty much, hence why I didn't buy something recently I did wanna check out. That and I didn't have that money anyway so that helped lol recently if I don't trade for something it's really rare I go out of my way to buy it. Kinda get sick of the whole high end chase BS.

Even if it actually is that good, it is quite hard for something on the higher end to actually live up to the hype. By the time you have managed to join some cult, sell one of your body parts, come up lucky on managing to place an order... and actually have the thing in your hands, by that time it is quite hard to meet the expectations which are perfectly reasonable of someone who has been through such an undertaking.

Exactly this. It is getting old, to me. Imo most only keep that hype train going cause they spent a small fortune and wasted so much time trying to get said piece that they feel it's great without being able to give it a biased review. It takes a special kind of person to look past that and say what it actually is, whether or not you put your house up for loan or sold an unborn child.

I get what your saying man, I generally speaking agree, at the same time I know that feeling of wanting to like something because I've bought into it at a price point I couldn't afford and can't admit to myself it wasn't worth it. As you say it takes a pretty special person to step back when it hits a certain hype or price point and probably the hardest thing is where the line of objectivity stands depends on the person at hand. Difficult to judge from any kind of distance.

Haven't we all been there? Lol Hell I did it not that long ago. And about 20 times before that. It just sucks when everything you have a taste for is higher end, and impossible to get. I've been fortunate in some aspects, others, not so much. But this is all in my opinion I'm not speaking as a whole on how other people should view it.

Haha I've no doubt I'll end up visiting that place another few times ;) At the moment though the stuff that I'm most happy with, it isn't cheap but it isn't the most expensive things I've shelled out for and it also is not that hard to pick up compared to some things. There is a point of diminishing returns in everything I guess but in the vape world it seems like there is a tendency to blow up over stuff that is the smallest fraction better, by the time it is in hand it doesn't feel worth it.

Just picked up a Split by dnv. This atty is so cool! Haven't searched through the thread yet, but does anyone else have it? I just recently started squonking, and this has got to be the coolest vape-related thing I have ever seen:

Dropbox - IMG_6147 2.MOV
just picked up one too and so far been vaping it for 2 days and....... i love it lol!!

got a KA1 single parallel 28g 7/8 wrap (.71) @ 21W; single AF 2/3 open. i really wanted to vape it with the included single-coil-reducer and OH-EM-GEE its super flavorful!!

the centerpost/top-filler is such a clever design and makes refilling super quick. no uncapping and zero mess.

i havent tried it in squonk mode yet.

BTW DNV just released the x-tank which expands juice capacity to 2.5ml!

im really enjoying this mini tank! makes me wonder what the k.loud and shift atty is like.

i feel like this atty is off topic now lol. its a bit of a hybrid. 70/30 dripper/tank lol

origen v3 and nectar nano are similiar but those are considered RDA's with really generous juice wells. considering the Split's size, id say its still an RDA.

This exactly. It's all about the hype rather than the pieces of gear. Every new atty is the best one ever.... until next week when the next under-produced and over-hyped atty is released. Great example, for me, is the O Atty. No offense meant cause I know you and others have one or have ordered one but man... I don't get it. $155 for what's essentially a NarDA with different posts and slightly different airflow. And Odis has already stated that they are producing 1000 tops. Well of course you are! How else will you keep that hype train going? See also the M Atty. I guarantee the high end groups will chug the O Atty incessantly just because of that.

I'm just tired of that "Oh aren't I cool 'cause I own a $200 impossible to get atty? Let me handcheck it eleventy billion times until it's no longer cool and then I'll pretend I never liked it" attitude in the high end scene.

My $20 Hastur V1 might not be attractive but it outperforms a lot of high end drippers I've tried.

Ok quick input. If you could only grab one rda, would you get the pancake or the low pro?
Clones but just want to grab one needs bf rda.
Thoughts?
I personally didn't like either, but if I had to choose between the two.....it would be anything over the low pro. Don't get me started on that thing lol. But yeah, pancake.

id get the pancake. it comes with a coil jig and its titanium! more build space than the LP. ive had the low pro and it was really frustrating to build. sold it within a week.

Ahhh when this came up a few pages back I was quite excited by it, but it said there was none left and that they probably weren't making more than 500. Looked again and mark bugs has them in stock on his site :)

Edit, I think at the time I had missed the pre 8/8 batch and the site didn't say the main release was still to come. Either way, they have at least one less left in stock
