Gplat is 316L. Not sure what phenotype l is google didnt help either...why whats up? I build with 316L.
In a nutshell what are the advantages and disadvantages between ss and kanthal?
Lower resistance, faster heat up/cool down, taste...
I use mechs exclusively if that factors in

Just standard macros. Dual coil, cotton baccon
So far I'm not real impressed!! I originally set it up with a single 26g Ni80 2.5mm .7Ω w/ RxW Z-coil and it was an absolute terrible vape. I did center the coil between the posts like several have reported and quickly ripped it out after about 20 minutes... Atrocious vape all together. I ended up with a similar build to what I have in the 454 V2 and one of my Hastur's. 26g Ni80 dual 2.5mm .4Ω w/ RxW. It vapes a ton better than the single coil for sure. Can't say too much about flavor as I am trying to vape through the flavor the guy was vaping that I bought it from. It seems to be some kind of custard or vanilla. I soaked and scrubbed the atty in some isopropyl for a couple hours and didn't seem to make any difference, so just figured I'd try to vape through it. I will say the draw on it is pretty good from 1 hole to wide open. I think 2 holes on each side is the same draw as 2 holes open on the 454 V2. I still am very impressed with the vape of the 454 V2 though. Definitely one of the best vapes I've had to date... I will post a more detailed write up later after I've vaped some of the lingering flavor out of it...

Really? Are you sure that two airflow holes on the 454 is equal to two on each side of the Stumpy? It cant be...thats a tight draw.
Yeah, that is what I am feeling here. Keep in mind the air holes on the 454 V2 are not only bigger diameter, but they are also kinda oblong as well. 2 holes on it is pretty equivalent to 4 open holes on the Stumpy...

I cant deal with that tight of a draw...I figure its more like the Stumpy wide...strange.
Thats all good... I thought it would be up your alley since you like the Tugboat so much... You could always open the hole and AFC up on it some. It wouldn't take a whole lot to make it the same as wide open Stumpy... I would imagine 1 drill size would do it for sure. That would definitely be too much for me though. I do like to dial it back just a little early in the day.

ETA... Don't know why I didn't think about it, but you can put it in 4 hole mode and that would take it way beyond the Stumpy wide open....

Just got a hobo v3.1 and I am really loving it. Simple for my nickel builds and leak free. Amazing vapor production as well
exactly what i've been saying, a lot of people have been anti hobo, but I think they pulled it off with the 3.1

Yup. It's crazy. I see some negative comments but I have no problems. Deck comes apart in a snap when I build it and it's leak free until the next time. And I've had a lot of small size rdas and this one with just a single 12 wrap spaced ni200 26 gauge coil is putting out. Sometimes after I exhale I look down and wonder if I was using the wrong rda. It's just a really well thought out and simple rda and lately all I've been using it 2 post rdas. They are so nice to build with so much room. Just ordered a Cthulhu v2 tank for that reason and a Goliath v2.

Oh and I just ordered this from local Vape and they are running 20% off with code ECC20

Man I wish you really didn't post that! Lol. I was hard on the hobo before I actually gave it a real chance, now I love mine. And the whole 2 post design. Thanks for posting this!

Thanks for the headsup! Man they have a lot of cool stuff and some good prices in that sale category, I just kept adding stuff to my cart but ended up deleting a bunch of it gotta have some self control lol damn.. Still picked up a Pheno atty, I really like the looks of it seems like a tugboat v3 to me 2 post deck, I like the slanted adjustable airflow and with all the airholes being different sizes, should be able to dial that thing into the perfect airflow with ease, gold plated positive post, comes with a chuff cap and a 510 cap as well as a drip tip! damn for 54 bucks that things a steal. Picked up a few other things baby friction fit dotmod tip, I've not seen the baby in person before if it's the same inner diameter as the normal widebore could be awesome. Got some anarchist wire to try and some cotton bacon v2 to compare to the vcc I just got. Beware of the sale section, I ended up deleting the stuff I added to my cart from there some of it's real tempting with the sale prices and the 20% off though lol

I just got some of that cotton bacon v2 yesterday at my local vape shop. Its not bad, definitely better then the first version, imo. It does hold a hella lot of juice though.

Ugh!!! I'm so tempted to use that damn code. They have so much on that site that I want. Especially that dos equis box mod. With the code it's only 180$ that is a steal!! Down from 225$ only problem they sold out of the actual one I want so I'd have to settle for the graphite coated copper and I see and hear the black comes off to expose the copper, not sure I want a copper smelling box.....

Yea, I just wanted to compare to the vcc, same reason I bought the anarchist wire just to see, curiosity gets the best of me. Just got the vcc but so far I don't notice much difference between vcc and bacon v1 other than the bacon has some taste to it until it breaks in supposedly the v2 doesn't have a break in period. I like them both better than organic japanese cotton though, they seem to be a bit more heat resistant so you have to try real hard to get a dry hit with them, I think that's the biggest advantage. The vcc does look real nice the way it pulls apart and with the container it comes in but 12 bucks for a tiny jar of cotton is pretty insane, still on my first build with it but not sure if i'll be ordering anymore of that.

Fully understandable, I was coming from rayon so to me I love VCC and now I like the cotton bacon v2 as well so I'll probly stick to them two for now. I forget where I saw it, which site, but they had the little jar of vcc for 8$ and that's the cheapest I've ever seen it anywhere. Back when I got mine they were selling straight from the manufacturer or VCC themselves and it was almost like the more you ordered the cheaper it was. But now I don't think they sell straight up anymore.
