I'm right there with you about the SX Mini. I have an S and an M Class and they are the only reg mods I use. I'm only gonna purchase mods using the SX350J or newer from now on. I'm pretty sure YiHi will produce something with features like the dna 200.

It is a bit crazy that two attys can equal the price of a higher end mod and sometimes one can surpass or come close to that total. Especially when there are plenty of nice ones that are under $50.

The price of atties has dropped a WHOLE lot since late 2013 and part of last year when it seemed that nothing was really coming out under $100. I may be wrong, but I am noticing the trend kinda creeping back up in price. Some of last year's later RDAs like the Mutation X (IMO), or even the Vulcan, brought the prices down across the board. It was great when there was more to buy in the lower price range besides a dadgum Igo atty. I mean, some atties can and should demand a higher price, but it should be more than just cool lookin' to warrant the big bucks.

I paid over $100 (just a little more) for the Zenith and without having it, it seems like it's almost priced accordingly. But I could see most of these atties being $20-30 less and being closer to the price they should be.

A prime example for me is the Petri. $100 seems a little steep for what it is. Same goes for the Hobo and a lot of the other small attys. Heck, even my beloved Tugboat V2. $90 seems steep for that atty and if you add on the SC or Anarchist X cap...

Ah, yes. The $35 top caps! Crazy, right? No disrespect to anyone that buys those atties (hell, I likely still will), but they are over-priced. Just my opinion of course, but I guess it is what it is no matter what anyone believes.

Edit: not to veer further off-topic, but as much as I like mechs, I am happy that whole charge-and-arm-and-a-leg pricing has largely ended with that segment of the market. There are still some that are priced high, but '13/'14 it began to get outrageous! I could live the rest of my life without ever again having to read the word "unicorn."

I really like the Dos Equis box. I paid $200 for mine...used. its the smallest dual 18650 mech though, made by JD Tech and its an amazing mod. Im going to order a Mako Shorty maybe, but I am really content with my Stumpy and Petri right now. Atties are costly, for sure. Some I feel ARE worth it for whatever reason and some I think should be in the $70 range rather then $100.

@TorontoOntario - don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting every atty that costs around $100 or more isn't worth the asking price. I guess I'm at a point where its hard for me to justify paying $100+ for one atty especially when a lot of "new" ones, like Mr.Mann posted, are only slight tweaks of existing attys with not much (if any) innovation.

I actually prefer what Wotofo does. Take an existing design, give it a slight tweak and charge $30 for it. Its easier to take a risk on a top airflow atty like the Sapor rather than buy an Aeolus V2 for double the price. If you find you really love top airflow then consider the more expensive options like the Vector or Aeolus V2. Or stick with the Sapor and maybe buy two different colored versions and have 3 attys you like instead of 2.

Alright, home and got the Dinghy built. Quick build (.4 ohm, 26g, 2mm ID) and the flavor is pretty darn good. I probably need to move the coils out closer to the airflow with my next build cause there's a bit of spitback but considering how wide the bore is on the built in drip tip it's not as bad as I was expecting. Vapor production is fairly nice as well though I don't exactly have a "cloud chucking" build in it. I'm enjoying it thus far and I'm sure it'll get better once I fine tune my build in it.

So that chuff style tip is built in? No changing it out?

I definitely like the HexOhms as well as the Slidex from Conspiracy. They're probably almost the same internally just aesthetic differences. I wanted a parallel unreg cause I could build slightly lower and not have to worry as much about the batteries. I was looking at the XEVape dual 18650 as well as the Tuglyfe and Truck.

I'm always going yo want something new and shiny lol. I'm just gonna try to live vicariously through you all for awhile.

Slidex looks pretty cool, never heard of it before, not really a fan of that button but I like the looks. You can run down to like .15 on the Hex so probably the same for that, just don't crank them up to 100% and you could probably run as low as you want, I don't think I would go below .1 though. The truck I don't like because he doesn't center the 510 so it hangs off one side, kills my ocd lol and the Tug is like 1/2" taller than other hammond boxes so I never got one of those, they do look cool though.

Every piece if equipment should be priced based on complexity of design (machining cost) and innovation, not brand

Not regarding wicking...
I went from cotton balls to rayon and have a lifetime supply, I'm really happy with it. Tried Koh gen do and wasn't impressed. Never tried anything else besides those and mesh is vcc or those specialty cottons any better for someone that had tried the rayon?

Rayon was all I used to use, still have a whole 400 foot box left lol. I stopped instantly once I tried the VCC. Plus I found that with the rayon after longer use I would wake up the next day and my throat hurt like I was out drinking and smoking cigarettes all night. But that's just my experience.

I really need to get back to using my VCC. I got low on the supply I bought and was having wicking issues so I went back to rayon. I totally forget, how dense do you run your VCC compared to rayon @HeiSINberg ?

By dense do you mean how much is inside of my coil? If so you know how they coil the VCC in the jar, I just cut a piece off and rip it directly down the middle, boom 2 pieces that fit snuggly in my coils. I normally wrap around the same drill bit, I forget what it's diameter is right now but I almost always do macros.

I PERSONALLY think VCC is LEAGUES ahead of Rayon which was what I used to use (along with KGD) before finding VCC. I am not a fan of Cotton Bacon, Native Wicks, Wata Wick (KGD rebagged) and all the other "premium cotton" out but VCC really does it for me. It holds TONS more juice, the flavor is the best I have had, you can PUSH it to the limits (like one more fire of your device and cottons going to burn) and still get amazing flavor and I also find it LASTS much longer. I wont wick with anything else and at the Vape Convention I just went to they had VCC jars for 3/$20 (one costs me $15 at a local B&M) and I spent $100 on VCC lol. Its worth the premium price TO ME and that is really saying something when it comes to a wicking material.

Yeah density inside the coil. I might not have been taking enough off. I was trying to cram it in like rayon at one point. I do know I had one wick in my subtank mini last over 200ml on the same build with the same juice (DIY with no sweeteners). Might have been the only one I got right lol v
