Hell mine didn't last the week I got it lol but this was WAY before I was even really good at building coils. It was my first true challenging rda to build on, there were no build tutorials back then, then I sold it and they put out a video helping. I'd pay 90$ for one definitely. But if I'm spending 120$ on anything right now, it's gonna be that Nectar Micro!

Just be aware that the nectar vapes more like a genny than a dripper. I just built my in'ax this morning and I'll say that the two vape very similarly. It's a thinner, crisper, colder vape than you might be used to but the flavor is stunning. It's a good out and about atty and a good chillin atty but it's not that great for when you want a bold, robust vape.

I'm mostly just looking for flavor, that's all I've ever really wanted. I could honestly care less about "clouds bro" but the flavor is what I always look for in an rda.

The draw on nectar micro is long and tight.. Somewhat like eden rose. Flavor is good but i prefer the snappy. The atty profile tho is so small! I bet it will look stealthy as hell on mini volt
I also prefer my snapdragon because the vape is a little more intense. I like a warm, dense vape and with ~0.4 ohm duals on my NarDA and veritas and ~0.6 ohm duals on my snapdragons, that's exactly what I get. The nectar is a little too mild to be my ADV. But everytime I walk into my room, I have to pick it up and give it a 10 minute vape session.

Sad thing about the Veritas is that so many people (and understandably so) did not buy the original and went for a knock-off. I saw several of them and each time I thought to myself, 'that is not a Veritas!' They looked like a Veritas on the outside, but it stopped there. Under the hood revealed the truth. Of course I have not seen every knock-off of the Veritas, but it's not as easy to get right as a Derringer.

@HeiSINberg. I too should not have sold mine when I did. It was actually an atomizer I think in the long run that will actually see its price increase (second hand). Crazy!

Put them up a little bit above the AFC, so the bottom of the coil is just above the AFC. That's probably what I would do. If you're going with the low wrap on the outside posts, it should be easy to level off. If you go with the low wraps into the centerpost block (or center post if you're using one single post), before installing your coils, try to bend the lead on the high wrap 90° to match the height of the low wrap. Post up some pics! The DOG3 looks pretty nice actually.
And if you're getting leakage, move your wicks so they're not near the AFC & don't over drip!

My first day of vaping on this was less then satisfying. The main reason was the twisted wire I bought was not clean. It made my vape taste like machine oil. Plus I don't feel like I had coils positioned correctly, was constantly worried about leaking. I ripped out the twisted coils, built a plain jane dual coil using tried and true Tempco wire. I positioned the coils up high like you suggested. The wicks are way off to each side of airflow. When I look thru the airflow opening, the only thing I see is the brass center block (using the 4 post) The vape now is perfection ! .4 ohm, dual coils, 20 watt. Easily adjustable airflow, zero leaking. Thanks for your suggestions.

Perfect. That's exactly what you should see when you look into the AFC. Glad I could be of some help :). Push all the cotton to the sides of the coils so nothing is underneath.
And if you bought twisted coils, first thing you should do is take the entire atty with the coils installed & clean it thoroughly with some dishsoap on a tooth brush with warm water. Clean it especially well since it was a new atty, there's going to be machine oil from the factory already the deck, top cap & mouth piece.

I semi-cleaned atty, but when I stripped the twisted coils off, I relcleaned atty very well. And if I use any more of the twisted wire, I certainly will wash it first. Tempco wire is great right off the spool. I thought this other spool of twisted from who-ever I bought it from would be fine too.

I still have some temco spools left. A bunch of 24,26,&34g N80. Regardless of where it comes from, I always clean my coils after installing them to the deck. I get such a nice shine from them & I know they're clean.

Fresh clean helps with coloring :D

I don't just clean them for the coloring, I clean them so they're clean, no matter what spool they come from. These are hybrid TC Ti/N80 fused Claptons after being cleaned.

I'd rather take a few minutes to clean the oils from my hands & whatever is on the screwdrivers/drill bits off the coils after install.

So how's this mini volt holding up for everyone who has one. I really want one, but if it's not lasting over an hour then I may pass. Any word on it? @jhhollier or anyone else?

Mine still hasn't shown. Tracking said it went to a post office in Virginia beach (about an hour from me) so I have no clue when it will even arrive.

Damn....well feel free to let me know! I'm super interested in it, I'm trying to see if the vape shop by me will be getting them or not. Normally if it's anything flawless or council of vapors they will be getting it so I'm just waiting it out until then.

I can get more than an hour of vaping from it as long as I'm not vaping at 30W+. It is definitely more of a sporadic usage type mod than something you can chain vape with. For me that's fine as I plan on only using it at work or riding around town doing errands. My other Mods will be for heavy use. The ohms read a bit higher than on my SX Mods, that's about the only issue I've run into. The build in my NarDA ohms out at .60 on the SX but .65 on the Mini Volt.

It irritates me to no end to see greedy SOBs in these groups. One dude was crowing about how last night he got his 3rd NarDA. Then Nareg announces a randomizer list for people who didn't get one. He enters the list for the randomizer and lo and behold the twit gets another one. I mean, really? Some people don't even have one and this guy is now about to purchase his 4th.

I know, I'm bitter. I can admit that. But come on, at some point give other people a chance to buy one instead of being a greedy POS. /rant

Hell, I don't even own one and I'll likely never get my hands on one, less tobeco or the like end up cloning it and making a good version of it. #sigh

Oh and I need ideas for another RDA with great flavor. Leaning toward the Nectar Micro at the moment but also considering the Petri. A 2nd NarDA just does not seem like it's going to happen. It'd be easier to get a 2nd Hobo and I may just end up doing that.

I'm no RDA expert, but I can honestly say that after playing with quite a few, the absolute BEST flavor I am finding in the ones I have is from the Petri (a replica, no less) with a single stainless coil. Go figure. It's outstanding, better even perhaps than my Gold Standard HH357 drip atomizers.

I'm on a list from Chowder for a bottom fed version of the Petri so I'm definitely getting one but I need another top fed RDA. I have an empty mod and I like to keep one atty on each mod. I was contemplating just getting a top fed Petri while I wait for the bottom fed one. I'm impatient like that lol.
