I might also have over tightened one of the screws and clipped the wire off.
28g 5/6 1.5Ω tootle puffers... Strange...I know...
Is it possible one of your leads wasn't clipped short enough and was touching the cap on the other side?

I clipped them close to the post. I really think I clipped the wire. There was a little nub left in the hole.
I've always felt its best to bend your leads upward along the posts and clip them at the top of the post. This way its not sticking out towards the top cap and can't short against it...
Hell, I'm willing to roll the dice for that. $14.13 shipped actually and on "pre-order" until 3/15, so we'll see. Also picked up a subzero clone while I was there lol.
Question for those that have had leaking from a 510 with their RDAs: did you notice it when using direct-connection mods? I have never noticed it, but a fellow vaper from my area talked to me about this with his Magma Reborn and he said he was using a direct-connection mod.
I assume by direct connection you mean hybrid correct? No I haven't experienced this, and I always used to use hybrids, you know that. Plus the noisy crickets I had used never leaked, every time one of mine leaked it was always on a fixed 510 not a hybrid.

But on a serious note, thanks. That is interesting, and it would suck! I've never noticed it before, so this is the rare situation where I count myself (so far) lucky.
Honestly though if someone was experiencing this with there hybrids (direct connection lol) mods then I would stop using that rda. Yep - that's me and I have stopped using it.
Had the Reborn for just over one week and every time I pull the battery there is juice on top of the positive end. I'm pretty sure it's leaking from the 510 pin and have not seen any leakage from the air holes. I've tightened up the positive pin and that didn't stop the leak. Next I will install the spare insulator and see what happens, but needless to say I'm a bit disappointed.

I remember way back when the Vulcan came out by VLS. That thing leaked on me every damn time from the 510 pin. No matter what I did, I changed the pin, tightened it, changed top and bottom Insulators and even had the company send me spares. Didn't make a difference at all. It still leaked, when rda's start doing this it almost makes me think it's maybe the rda itself and maybe the tolerances are off in some slight way somehwere. Example- The solstice did this too, I went through 3 different ones before I got one that didn't leak.

Not just airflow problem. He panned it for always feeling like there was juice in the airholes, he could never just get a clean air hit...it always felt like some juice was in the hit. He could hear it as well.
I started to have the same problem with my Solstice that @HeiSINberg did though not as dramatically. Instead of contacting N8 I thought I'd "make lemonade from the lemon" and send it to Chowderhead to make it a bottom feeder. I still really like the looks of it and was getting decent flavor. So, if my SwampPiano ever gets here and the MyMod comes out I'll be set.
Swamp piano lmao! Lol. Sorry I knew what you meant. I actually thought the same thing, cause like you it is decent, not my favorite but I thought if it was bottom fed it would be better. Kinda still reminds me of the hobo just not as good to me. Maybe I'll do the same thing that's a good idea.
