And definitely don't get discouraged by going "Oh, that looks cool. I wonder if I could... oh, there's homework." If it looks fun and keeps you interested, reading up and fully understanding can be half the fun -- if you get stuck understanding anything, this place is super helpful.
You could definitely do some pretty great vapes on your battery though -- but you'll probably want to look more at microcoils. I'm not sure if your battery has an ohm meter, but you're probably talking $25-30 for everything you'd need (decent rda, wire, wicking, $5 multimeter) and you're then well on your path.
