Hiya. Newbie questions here. I just purchased my first RDTA and i'm not sure on what coils i should use? I'm not thinking about building my own coils, rather buying them pre-wrapped (to begin with at least). Also, is an ohm reader necessary when buying them pre-wrapped?

The RDTA i bought is an 'iJoy Combo RDTA' and the box mod I've got is an MVP4.

Also English is not my first language :3 Thanks!

Hello @loque87.

Any coils will work but something to remember is your mvp4 will fire down to 0.1 ohms so if you use dual coils they'll need to be at least 0.2 ohms (ideally 0.25 ohms), per coil, as doubling the coils halves the ohms.

So any coils you think you'll like will work.

Also, is an ohm reader necessary when buying them pre-wrapped?

Your mvp4 has a built in ohm reader so that'll work fine.

Also English is not my first language :3

Your English is excellent, I'd have thought it was your first language.

Get a coil jig to wrap coils, as for building them not many make their own fused claptons etc anymore. They come in 5m spools $5-10 or 10 pack individual lengths $1.50-3 these days that cost what people used to charge for a set of 2-4. If you just wnt low watt flavour builds get 26 awg SS 316L or N80, 5-7 wraps 2.5-3mm ID, if you want massive clouds and high watts you'll need fused claptons, staples, aliens etc. Just a normal clapton 26/32 would be a in between the two coil.
