I have re-used wicks out of tobacco flavors and the new flavors came out with just a few vapes.

I dry hit them to bring the juice up into the wick before taking an actual hit.

I vaped Cyclops Vapor's Colossus 18mg yesterday and it was a VERY sweet juice. Almost too sweet. So I'm setting that one back and letting it seep for a while. I was using an Aspire CE5 as a clearomizer on an eGo-C twist. I rinsed every part and dried dried except the wick very well last night before bed.

I woke up this morning and decided to put some coffee and cream by goodejuce in it. I dry hit it again, but didn't get any flavor in my mouth like I usually do.

Then I vaped the coffee and cream. The WHOLE time I tasted Colossus and not the coffee and cream. AT ALL. I tried vaping it for a good 45 minutes.

I threw the wick out, and now I'm wondering if I should have done that.

Would have the Colossus taste have gone away if I had let the wick dry more (more than overnight), or would I have always tasted the Colossus every time I used that wick? This was the third flavor I had tried with it and hadn't had an issue before this one.

BTW, Colossus is a very thick juice.

Thanks for any input you can give me.

It has been my experience that the flavor would of gone eventually. It all depends on the initial flavor. I had a kanger Protank III with wrigleys spearmint flavor in it. I rinsed it out in hot water real well, let it dry over night and filled a tank with vanilla custard. First time I ever had minty vanilla. Took the tank apart again, washed everything again, replaced the wick. let it air dry again and put it back together and filled it with vanilla custard again and still had a minty flavor so I just vaped away. Took maybe 5 tanks before the mint flavor was totally gone.

It all depends on how strong the initial flavor was. I been running a DIY tobacco flavoring experiment where I have 5 flavors in a rotation. I will fill a CE5 style tank, vape it down, rinse it and set it aside to dry while using a second CE5 clearomizer on the next flavor. When I vape that dry I will rinse it and then set it aside to dry while I am using the initial CE5. Had no problem with flavor transfer on it from the previous flavor.

Hi, Chop-

Thanks for your input. I am also using the Aspire CE5 while experimenting new flavors. I didn't have an issue with changing flavors in my bullet with genitank mega, but all of them have been a tobacco base. I use the Aspire to play with.

I think the Colossus was just too sweet and overbearing. It totally masked the coffee and cream. I vaped a good 30-40 minutes with it. Hopefully I'll have better luck with other sweet juices.

The people at the altsmoke B&M store told me to "dry hit" a tank almost to the point of tasting the juice. I tried that with an already used wick and couldn't taste the juice at all. Do I have to do this "dry hit" with a used wick? I didn't know to ask them while I was there.

And, I cleaned the Aspire CE5 thoroughly and let it sit overnight, so I don't think that's an issue. I DID NOT take the wick out of the bottom, though. Should I have done that and cleansed the base as well?

Sorry for so many questions and thank you for your help!
Dani

there's some like blueberry for some reason ...no amount of soaking or cleaning will get that taste out..

wash it all down hardware and take the coil out and soak it in some water that I brought to a boil then let sit just a bit..put them in a bowl ...swirl it around a bit..maybe soak a couple hours (or overnight) then dry burn and try it..

youll find like with your mint..there's some that just aren't coming out..most you can make that coil like brand spanking new though.

Maybe that's my problem, I just washed it in really hot tap water for a few minutes and set it out to dry. I didn't soak it overnight.

Is "dry burning" like taking the wick out and pushing the button until all the water evaporates?

Thank you,
Dani

When you have a silicon wick you want to fire it for a few seconds, stop, fire it again for a few seconds, stop, and do that five or six times. That is dry firing. Dont sit there and hold it in the on position for more than a few seconds with out any juice in it. And never do it with a cotton wick.

The Aspire CE5 style are nice but to me personally, not worth it. I like the GS-H2's Lot of 10 Clear GS H2 2 0ml Atomizer Cartomizer Clearomizer Free SHIP | eBay for on the go all day vaping. When I am at home chillin I can break out the drippers and larger tanks but you cant go wrong with the GS-H2s because they last forever, are rebuildable and delivers a good flavor. Fill one of those up with a flavor and it last a long time.
You can also get the Kanger T3S Genuine Kanger T3S Tank 5 Pack Ships Same Day | eBay which hold 3ml liquid and work very well and are also cheaper than the Aspire CE5's.

And as a new vapor, learn that ebay and the internet is your friend. Yesterday I picked up 5 EGO T 1100 mah batteries for a total of $33. At my local B & M I paid $25 for one 900 mah battery.

Hey, friend!

Will those clearomizers on ebay (both type) fit on my eGo-C Twist battery? Are they a use and throwaway type of clearomizer?

THANK YOU for any info you can give me! I'm going off to ebay now to look now...

Yes they will fit on your ego. You can get replaceable coils for them or be like me and rebuild them. They have youtube video's that will walk you through a coil rebuild on them. Its a bit tedious but I do it anyways. The GS H2 are my favorite clearomizers at the moment. At a rough guess I probably have 40 or more of them right now.

I have quite a few clearomizers right now. I very seldom use the same clearomizer for a different liquid. I have cleaned out a couple to use them for something else after I use all of a liquid I don't care for very much. I haven't had the issue of them tasting like the former liquid. I'm still playing with juices right now, so I figure I'll settle down after a while. :D
