I rebuilt 3 CE heads, 1 Vivi Nova head, and my rba.

Disclaimer: Everyone has their own preferences, so this post is not the only way to recoil/rewick clearomizer heads. It is just the way I have had lots of success at.

I basiclly follow Dave's Video
Machine screw coil wrap for Vivi Nova / Kanger T3 - YouTube

I didn't use the beading needle, I just fold over a piece of Kanthal to pull my wick through. Also, once I get the coil off of the machine screw, I compress the coil with my fingers once. This makes the coil a little more compact and fit better into the head assembly.

I use 4 1mm wicks in all my clearomizers, I have tried using one 2mm and one 1mm wick and find (for me at least) I get better wicking from 4 wicks.

I use 5 wraps of 32ga Kanthal for 1.9-2.3 ohm coils.

I know the CE's aren't the best thing out there, but they are small and are what I use at work on an ego battery. If you know of something better to try I am all ears :)

Anyway, take a look, ask questions, recommend better. I am always willing to learn.

ive been playing around this week with coils and material. made 2 micro coils, 1 normal coil with 5 wraps of 32ga and cheese cloth and another 5 wrap of 32 with 400SSmesh. im liking the SS set up alot, took a few days for it to start tasting good but now I like ill made two more of these for my other protanks.

sounds the micros should be better but i just didnt get the fantasic results im hearing of and just got less vape and more gurgling.

I am interested in micro coils, I feel I have really found the sweet spot (for me) on my clearomizers. The hardest part to get right was wicking, the 4 1mm wicks keep up with the coil quite a bit better than any other setup I have tried.

I need to buy some 30/31 ga Kanthal and give it a go.

Do you wrap all 4 1mm wicks in the coil or are you using flavor wicks too?

I'm wondering because I just rebuilt my first EVOD coil and I'm getting low ohm readings. I tried 4 and 5 wraps of 32ga kanthal with one 2mm wick and only achieved 1.0-1.5 ohms. I then went with 6 wraps and got ~1.8 ohms.

I'm thinking of using 3mm wick or a combination of thicknesses to achieve proper resistance with fewer wraps. I have 1mm wick so I might try your method.

If you build your coil on a 4/40 machine screw they will generally come out the same resistance. 6 wraps about 2.4 ohms, 5 wraps about 2.2 ohms, it will vary .2 up or down but it has been pretty close to that for me.

I have never personally used an Evod. I have had T3's and still own a protank. In my opinion the bottom coils have their own issues. The best thing I have found is to use is cotton. Make the coil on a machine screw, get some sterilized cotton (cotton balls... what ever) Pull off a piece twist it down and thread it through.

Make sure you don't dry burn with a cotton wick, it is easy enough to pull out the old cotton, dry burn, install new.

I haven't tried the machine screw method yet, I'm just in the beginning stages of rebuilding. Might give it a shot though, with the cotton. I've heard some good things about using cotton wicks.

I did rebuild another Evod coil - used one 2mm wick and one 1mm wick with 5 wraps of 32ga, tested at ~2.0 ohms so that's more like what I'm looking for.
