Hey guys, I've been vaping about 2 months now. I started with a KR808, moved on to an ego with Smok Tech (not Smok Tek) Mega DCC's (1.7 ohm) and just recently picked up a roughstack, which I love. I am using a single AW 18650 IC battery in it currently for 3.7V vaping. With the ego and roughstack, I've exclusively been using the Mega DCC's. I like the DCC's but it can be hard to know when it's getting low and needs a refill. For this reason, I'm very interested in picking up a tank.

I've seen about 10+ variants of different tanks and watched youtube reviews galore on the different tanks out there. I'm not going to spend $50 on a tank, that's more than I spent on my mod. I saw the madvapes tank system for 11.95 and thought it looked really nice:
Dual Coil 510 Chrome Tank Cartomizer
I watched a few reviews on this tank and it seemed to be a pretty solid tank all around, especially for the price. The only concern I had is the carto, itself. It seems some people were happy with the carto and others weren't.

On review in particular mentioned pre-punched resurrector cartos from crystal clear vaping:
Crystal Clear Vaping
Unfortunately, the site doesn't specify whether these are dual coil cartos. They also have no images showing the size/location of the pre-punched holes.

As for the liquid I've been using, it's primarily been TopVapor from madvapes and has worked really well for me thus far. I've ordered a few different types of juices to try out from liquidxpress.com and some boba's bounty from smoktek.com. I don't want to punch/slot my own cartos, I'd much prefer to fiind something that just works out of the package.

I'm also interested in a good, solid standard sized 510 DCC (LR 1.5-1.7 ohms) that will work well for sampling new flavors without having to fill a mega carto with 4 mL of juice. I'm considering picking up a set of these:
Smok Tech 1.7 ohm 510 Cartomizers
They aren't dual coils but seem to have some pretty positive reviews.

I did search for some of this stuff but I couldn't find a thread that really had much information on the best cartos for the tanks. Thanks in advance for any help.

If you like DC cartos, then stick with them. Really, doesn't make any difference in how the tank works. The ressurectors are horizontal coil cartos, I think, not DC. I could be wrong about that though. But, if the DC's are your go to, just stick with them. One thing to keep in mind, the roughstack button is on top next to the connection if I remember right. So, you might have to use a 510-510 connection to raise the tank up so it doesn't interfere with the switch.

You will definitely need to raise up the tank to use with the roughstack (I had one). I now have three tanks from madvapes, two chrome, and one black, and they work great, haven't had any leaks. The only thing I've had to modify a little is the size of the holes in their pre-punched cartos. I had to end up cutting slots for my liquids to wick correctly, I just couldn't get the holes big enough. I use the smoketech pre-punched cartos from madvapes as well, 1.25 and 2.0. I have a sample pack of liquid from madvapes, and those liquids work well with the pre-punched cartos without any modifications so far. I would just test your liquid for wicking and see if you will have to make the holes bigger.

...the resurrectors are a single coil 1.7ohm carto(almost all I use)...they are manufactured by SmokTech and the prepunched ones are flanged and have a hole the same size and placement as all the dcc smoktech cartos made for the same tanks sold at CCV...which are the SmokTech DCT type...I don't have either but, that is my understanding..........

Thanks, madjack. That actually helps a lot. I take it you like the single coils? How are the prepunched holes working for you? It makes sense to me that a small, single hole, single coil carto wouldn't need to be modified as it can't burn as much juice as quickly, leaving no need to enlarge the hole or cut a slot.

BTW, what part of LA are you from? I was born and raised in Lake Charles.

Right now, I'm liking the DCTank cut down to fit a Boge ss carto. I think they wick much more consistently than the dc's in a tank. You can get a bare tank here for less money: SMOKTech 510 Dual Coil Tank Tube. Use coupon code vapezone5 for 5% off.

Ok so I just got the tank up and running, so far,so good but I'm not seeing any bubbling from the pre punched hole. I'd prefer not to burn this carto out but I just got the tank filled. I'm hoping it'll just take some tooting to get it flowing... any advice? Btw I'm vaping liquidxpress honey flu cured out of it.

Please keep us advised on how you are liking this tank set-up with the smoktech carto's. I have one coming on fri 1/13 with a 5 pack of smoktech carto's. If I don't like the smoktech carto's, I'm going to try the pre-punched 1.7ohm resurrector carto's from crystal clear vaping--they claim these carto's will work in this tank.

p.s. BTW, what is the pg/vg in the liquidexpress honey flu cured?

edit: after reading another thread, I found out the resurrector's are smoktech's--read and learn.

I think the vg/pg is like 90/10, but that could very well be a different liquid...

Had the tank on since last night. Delicious, tons of vapor, no leaking. So far, so great. The TH is a bit milder than the smok tech mega DCC's I've been using but I love the tank setup, no dry hits on it, working perfectly.

I like ce2s in tanks and have several .
Acorn tank from Parkesvaping
Cartzilla and vision stone both exactly same tank - ecigexpress and gotvapes.
The latter has had leaking issues in via the bottom screw cap and i put some teflon tape on its threads and no leaks .
Would like to see a permanent 510 connector though in cap to easily change out the ce2.

The acorn uses a top screw on cap and vinyl grommet for the bottom and makes easy changing of the ce2.
I just like the nice clean taste of them and the ease of dry burning the coil to clean the ce2.

I was just informed that this is a pg only juice.

At myvaporstore.com they claim:All of our eLiquid will work with the DCTank (full PG or 50/50 PG/VG). Full VG eliquid is too thick and will not work well in the DCTank.

We shall see. I use 80pg/20vg and 50/50 juices.

cheers,
