I've been using the smok Tech Cartomizer tank for quite a while with a 1.5 ohm dual coil carto with three punched holes. Recently i dropped my KGO and the tank cracked, i was looking to replace it, but i saw the Vision Nova V3 mega, and i was wondering if it was worth a shot to try it instead, this one in particular:

Vision Nova Tank Clearomizer V3 Mega

What i basically want to know is how is the vapor produced by this type of tank vs a regular carto tank? and how long the heads last versus cartomizers.

I was a long time carto user, I have switched to the Vivi Nova, The heads last allot longer, Most of the time you will get a week or two out of a carto before it is a tough draw or has flooding issues. The vivi comes with three heads I have had mine for over a month and still on the same head. They are easy to swap out and there is no poly fill to get clogged...If you decide to rebuild the nova you can also learn to do that for pennys and save allot of money buying your own wick and wire

The vivi nova wicks the liquid up to the top coil. As the tank empties you may need to tip it up occasionally to make sure the wicks stay wet, but it's no big deal. Many people prefer the flavor without the filler found in regular cartomizers. This style of wicking will work with somewhat thicker juices than a carto can handle, and some juices taste very different on each. You might want to plan on getting your tank back up and running as well as trying this out - both are good but different - different heat, draw and flavor. I use both types.

Im using higher vg blends so I think that has a lot to do with it.

Typically higher pg results in more throat hit while higher vg results in more vapor production. Most people use a blend of these. My current all day vape is 10/90 pg/vg.

Clearomizers are notorious for not wicking higher vg juices well compared to cartomizers or carto tanks. I noticed a pronounced drop in flavor, enough that it didnt even taste like the same juice anymore when I tried it in a ViVi Nova.

Id recommend buying one and testing them side by side yourself. Worse comes to worse and you dont like the clearos you can use them to taste juices since theyre easy to clean and fill.

I agree with Zapp's comments. Longtime cartotank user here. Decided to try a couple of the vivi nova clones (Smoktech Titan specifically). I liked them at first. Easy fill and tons of vapor. However, I began noticing that some of the flavors were muted in them. Actually tried the same flavor in both the Titan and a cartotank, and the cartotank won hands down for flavor. Some flavors were totally absent in the Titan tanks, as if I was using a flavorless e-juice. I do use many flavors that have 100% vg, so wicking of the string wicks may be the issue.

I've since given one of the tanks away to a new vapor because of its ease of use for a newcomer, while alerting them that after some time they may want to try a cartotank for more flavor production.
