For about a week or so I was Googling for information about 'electronic cigarettes'. Of course, I found all the fake "electronic cigarette" review sites. The choice was down to Green Smoke or V2 when somehow I stumbled upon this site. WOW. Talk about an eye-opener.

Anyhow, after reading the InfoPages and hours upon hours of posts, I am ready to buy. I just want to get it over with.

I'm going to go with 2-piece 808 for me and my wife. At least for now. I am confused about whether to go with auto or manual battery. Older posts seem to recommend manuals but it seems that many recent posts recommend auto batteries with the 2nd generation KR808D-1's.

Bear in mind, we will be using pre-filled cartos to start with. I will experiment with refilling but my wife probably will not.

Auto battery's tend to get gummed up..but decent ones work awhile. I use both styles but in 510..maybe they should sell kits with 1 auto and 1 manual battery for beginners to try both.

This site is hard to miss when searching for ecigs lol..I registered here around when I 1st started vaping but just started posting the last day or so...

The KR808D is a mainstay for lots of people. The battery is, I think 280mah. 100mah = about an hour of vaping on a charge, so you could get almost 3 hours from a battery. Prefilled cartos are OK, but expensive. You can buy Boge KR808 cartomizers and fill your own with the juice flavor of your choice. That would be the way to go.

If you are looking for something with longer battery life and a larger set of optional accessories for vaping, look at the eGo, Riva, or Kgo. The 510 thread for cartos on these models open you up to many variations in cartos, atomizers, and tanks.

Welcome Tx2pack;
Your really lucky you found this site.............more info than Texas has cows.
I cannot comment on the auto battery other than I did start with Greensmoke and found the battery life was terrible.
I used them for maybe 2 weeks and found this site .........upgraded to an Ego-T with a manual 1000mAh battery and never looked back. My vote would be manual but there are a bunch of much smarter veterans who can point the way for you.

Hi Tx2pack,welcome to ecf. I've gifted a couple of kr808's to friends since I started with those. I personally went with manual batteries for them and myself just to avoid liquid leaking in to the batts and killing them. I've seen my friends topping they're cartos off and overfill them. Since the batt is sealed just had to grab a napkin and clean it out.

Yeah it is on the bottom of the 2nd page when I just searched it..but when you search out different things about ecigs this forum comes up a lot on the 1st page...

Actually, for the uninformed such as myself, when you do a google search for 'electronic cigarette reviews' this site is on the 3rd page. So, while it is there, it is not among the highest hits so it could be missed.

That's because:
some sites pay google for that right
some sites have specific search terms/ words that help move them up the ladder on Google.
