I have a Vapor Skinz (same as a J-Wrap) around here somewhere, but I haven't used it. I make my own wraps and the adhesive on J-Wraps should be tacky enough to wrap and rewrap a few times if you don't get anything on the sticky side. I doubt heat will make it tighter (although maybe it has for you, I haven't seen a J-Wrap in person), the vinyl and adhesive I use (and what's on the Skinz) would just get stickier if I applied heat.

I bought a Vapor Skinz Black Mamba wrap but haven't used it yet, and yeah it looks the same as a J-Wrap only slightly smaller, which is probably to reduce any overlapping. I just wish the Vapor Skinz came with the small pieces for the top and bottom sections of the VAMO (the battery cap and whatnot). Keeping the Black Mamba for either a backup in case my J-Wrap comes off, or until I get another VAMO (which probably won't be too much longer lol). It is fitting considering the VAMOs are known for making that rattle snake sound!

I don't know if I should order a new VAMO any time soon though, considering I've spent even more since creating this thread, with my total over the past month coming to right around $500! Thankfully my fiance does not vape or frequent this forum or I'd be screwed lol!

I have also considered making my own wraps, but as I've said I have spent waaaaay too much over the past month on vaping stuff. I am also heavily into DIY e-liquids and rebuildable atomizers at the moment, so I don't need something else to occupy my time away from college, band, and family obligations lol.

Good for you! My wife and I started vaping 100 days ago as of tomorrow. We have dropped more money than we should on vaping supplies, but we simply refuse to go back to analogs. We have a ton of juice, several great PVs, and all the stuff to rebuild our attys. Being "set" helps, I think.

Congrats to you and your wife! I wish you both the best of luck!

Yeah I agree, being well-stocked does help. Since ordering all this new stuff exactly one month ago, I have not had any desire for an analog. I have even tried 2 of them, one after receiving my VAMO and another a couple days ago at my band's latest gig where everyone else was chain-smoking analogs all around me, just to see if the urge was still there. I honestly could not stand the taste and could not even finish the nasty things. I may have spent $500 (and on PayPal credit no less), but it was totally worth it! I do not regret a thing.

I don't taste the filler so it's not a problem for me. I couldn't ever get clearos to work right. If they're working for you, stick with 'em!

I used the CE3 and X2 clearo's from Smokeless Image. They worked okay for a day or so then was nothing but trouble from then on. I almost gave up on clearos until the T3s were released, and those saved the day! Even with as great as those were, these Kanger ProTanks are amazing. I have had absolutely no problems with them in almost a month of using them. I ordered some Kanger T3s just for backups, but am sticking with the ProTanks. The only downside is that they guzzle juice. I go through 3-4 ProTank fills a day, where one T3 would last me a day or two, but it is worth it for the taste and vape plumes.

I cannot recall off the top of my head, but I think I may have ordered a carto/tank from Fast Tech in one of my umpteen orders that I have placed over the past month. Still waiting on several orders to arrive, so I may have a pleasant surprise in one of them!

Any carto/tanks you could recommend for a newb to try? If I don't already have one on the way, I wouldn't mind trying one out in the future.

You will be rolling when you get the Vamo.

I absolutely love it! I still use my Smokeless Image spinners from time to time, like when my band plays out so I don't kill my VAMO, but it has barely left my hand since I got it almost a month ago. I also ordered several more batteries since creating this thread, so now I have the 2 Panasonic 18650s that came with the VAMO, 2 eFest 18650s, and 4 eFest 18350s. I'm well stocked lol.

Man like they've been saying, you don't do anything half cocked do you, lol.

You shouldn't have any issues with an 18650 batt lasting you a whole gig. i get almost 2 days out of mine and that's with pretty heavy vaping on my 2.5ohm ProTank at 4volts. i tried the shorty mode with a 350 and it just doesn't fit my big gorilla hands the way i like. It lasted me about 8 hrs though so not too shabby. So 2x 18650s keep me going. One dies, the other goes on charger.

You might wanna check out the Vaultz case at walmart. its 9 bux and perfect for hauling all ur gear around too. I ran the ego twist and the vivi nova for many months before getting my Vamo and Protank. All is now perfect in the vaping world!!!

I'm with PBusardo on this one, he did a video. Basically if you're have trouble with your carto tank, it's the carto not the tank. Madvapes has different sizes and colors along with a bunch of other vendors including Fasttech:
Dual Coil 510 Tank Cartomizer

These are the cartos I've had the best luck with. They're a pain to prefill (50 drops flicking them like an old time thermometer to force the juice in) but worth the effort IMO:

I seem to go through the 18350s pretty fast, around 5-6 hours, but the 18650s last me at least an entire day, usually longer. I just don't trust carrying my VAMO around at a gig, which is why I still keep my trusty VOLT Spinners. I have a lanyard, so I just keep it around my neck. My 1300 mAh Spinner will usually last me the entire night at a gig, so all I have to bring is back up tanks full of juice. I still carry my 900 mAh Spinner as a back up just in case something would happen.

And great idea about the Vaultz case. I have one that I use for my external hard drive, but never considered using it for an on-the-go VAMO/e-cig case. Those things are definitely built like a brick-$h!t house! The one I have even has a lock and key, although I suppose nothing is stopping someone from just stealing the entire Vaultz case lol! I just bought a couple extra cases from Fast Tech, the long oval type shaped ones with eGo stamped on the front. Now I wish I would have just gotten another Vaultz. I've spent so much lately, what will another $10 hurt? (except for my ... when the old lady finds out I spent more money and starts kicking it!)

Awesome! Thanks for sharing! I'll probably pick a couple of these up next time I decide to blow some more money on gear (which probably will be in the near future lol). Carto/tanks are probably about the only juice delivery method I haven't experimented with yet, so I think it's about time.

As I've been promising, here are some pictures of my new(ish) VAMO. One is with the matching J-Wrap on the ProTank. It actually looks very clean in person, but in the picture the ProTank wrap looks kind of janked up for some reason, must be the lighting. The other picture is a ProTank full of my Dragon's Blood clone juice I have recently developed. I use some Food Writer edible markers I found at Wal-Mart to color it the blood red color. They are nothing but coloring and PG, no preservatives or anything extra. And it doesn't take much, just a dab. What I have been doing is coloring the tip of a pipette then stirring the juice with it. I know a lot of people are against using food coloring, but since Radiator Pluid is green and that stuff sells like hotcakes, it can't be too bad, especially considering the miniscule amount it takes to actually color the juice.

Alot of the success in vaping is finding the right flavors that you just love. I highly recommend you get some small samples of flavors also because I have found that alot of DIY's I have tried aren't that great. In fact, it takes awhile to get a few good recipes down that really work for you. Also, trying other premade juices and finding one that you love will give you ideas on how you can make it yourself, which is what I finally was able to do with my all day vape that I was paying alot of money for before I figured out how to make it myself. Also, if you are still getting strong urges for a cig, maybe you should try upping your nic for those times that you are wanting a cig. I tend to vape different levels of nic depending on the situation. Good luck and I wish you lots of success! :)

Thanks for the advice. Yeah I have been varying my nicotine level lately. That is definitely a good idea. I've also tried some commercial flavored e-liquid before I started DIY. I have tried most of the flavors from Smokeless Image (excluding most of the NicQuid line) and I have tried many flavors from ECBlend. There were a few I liked, but most of the time there was always something that seemed lacking. I still want to try some liquids from some of the other popular vendors eventually.

Wow talkin about back ups for your back ups.....
Thats why I am so hesitant about even taking a puff off a regular cig
Scared I might start right back.
Its only been a bit over a month for me and I do have athough, or a slight craving
to try a nasty. But I just vape on.....
Vape on man vape on

Vape on for sure man! I still have the cravings for the stinkies every once in a while, but honestly all it takes now is a taste of one. Since getting all my new gear vaping is like a whole new experience. If I start getting a craving for a real cigarette while my fiance is smoking I just ask her to let me hit it once. Once hit and I remember why I quit those things in the first place.

I have only smoked like 2 cigarettes in the past month since getting my new gear, and they were just because I was in a situation where we rode to the store and I forgot my gear at home, and they were quite nasty!
