OK, just got 4 bottles of 10 mls of juice from Don @ BackWoods. Various flavors. 24 mg Nico, all.555, Medium Menthol, Blueberry, and watermelon.Have been using safeCigs for about 6 weeks. Have spare batterties and many old used up cartridges, Made little tool to remove end cap from cartos.
I dont know how much to drip in. Also is it best to use them right away , or wait a while. On one hand I heard the juice will evaporate, & there is a shelf life. On the oher hand, I heard that it is best to let them steep. How long? Exactryly how do I refill & then what do I do & when?
I also heard that there are " plates " in the cartos, and that the cartos dont last forever. How many refills do I expect from cartos, and how do I know when the plates are caked up ?
I alsp am thinking about a REAL PV. I saw a pic of one that was posted by } Vapin Biker Babe ". It was engraved w " Indulgence " Was something like that fabricated, or is that a type of PV available online ?

Thanks & Regards, Ed

There are several methods- I remove the end cap, tilt the carto drip in about 10 drops avoiding the center hole. Give it a shake like a thermometer, add 5 more drops, shake and repeat until the carto is full. Wipe the battery end off with a tissue and put it on your battery. When flavor drops off, add more drops.

I think flavor improves as it sits but to me it tastes fine right out of the package. I have the watermelon and think that did improve a bit with steeping. But try it!

You know when a carto is no good, it gets really hard to draw.

Congrats to you! BWB is an excellent supplier :) Take the prong of a fork, a paperclip unfolded, whatever and pop out the litte stopper at the top of your carto. If there's a second little clear plastic thing, remove that gently, too. You don't want to bother the rest of the carto. The 555 will be the least strong. Maybe start there and work to the menthol flavor last. Melons, cinnamon and menthol flavors linger. You'll want a different cart for each juice. If you have an atomizer, all the better. Do you know how to fill a carto?

So many questions-- I'll try to help with a few.

Not sure about 555 or Med Menthol, but BWB Blueberry and Watermelon are good out of the mail. If you like the flavors you don't have to let them steep. Tobaccos can mellow and get a little more depth to the flavor in a week or two, but they are usually still good from the mail.

I'm not sure what your PV is exactly, but with cartos I drip down the sides a few drops at a time trying to avoid the center tube. Then I either spin them with a lanyard I have to move the e-liquid down or just wait to add more. You keep adding it until the top of the filler is slushy wet. Go look in the fixed posts on the New Members forum, there are many different methods. You tube has a ton of cartomizer help videos as well. Cartos and atomizers have coils, not plates, that get caked with burned eliquids. What type you use (how sweet, how much VG, dark flavors, etc) determine how long they last. When they lack flavor or vapor, it's time to either clean them or put on a new one. Good news is Don's BWB ejuices are pretty clean and don't mess up cartomizers.

If your current PV is satisfying you enough to not smoke, then you might want to keep researching and wait to buy your second one. Everyone has a different opinion on what makes a good PV. Definitely check out the RIVA/Egos, KR808s, and the REO mods. I think safeCigs might be a KR808 but I'm not sure. Definitely stay with forum supplies because they don't last around here without good product, fair prices, and excellent customer service.

Hey, that was my Indulgence you saw. :) And it's Super Vapin Biker Babe. Welcome. Yes, I got mine online. swedishfish gave the link to where I got it. It's a real PV and vercital (sp) (spell-checker didn't know how to spell it either). It's kind of a poor man's version of variable voltage. Check out that link and you will see what I mean. I'm really liking mine.

Sorry, SUPER Vipin Bike Babe. ;)

Whats a Variable voltage PV ? & does anyone have a link ?

I seem to like the safeCig 24 mg Menthol, with fresh bat, and fresh cart, would like to duplicate that taste, strength, draw etc, but at cheaper price, not that they are terribley expensive, but figure I can get more for less. The story of my life, I suppose.

Wow you asked a lot of good questions and welcome to ECF. I like the condum way of filling carto's. The rubber cover that comes with most carto's, one on each end. If they are two different sizes, use the smaller one. Fill about 3/4 full of juice and slip in your carto, threads first, into the condum until it pools on top. Let it sit and soak up for a bit. VG is thicker and will take a little longer. Some say to clear the tube by blowing from the threaded end and holding a tissue in front to catch the excess. I'm a penny pincher so I remove the condum and lightly blow from the cap end into the condum so it catches the excess juice. Then poor that back into the bottle. Then to make sure the tube is clear I'll blow from the threaded end into a tissue, but it's usually already clear.

As for VV. Lots of juices come alive and taste much better at a higher voltage. Normal PV's are 3.7 volt, or close to that, but not all juices can handle higher voltage. A VV will give you the option of adjusting the voltage so you can dial in what you like and not burn the juice. Fantastic idea and will probably be my next purchase. Good luck and do a lot of reading on ECF.

As far as what is a vv (variable volt)... many devices are strictly 3.7v and most drop under load to 3.2 or so. Then there ate devices that, depending on battery set up can run 3.7v or 6v (2- 3v batteries for 6v or one 3.7 battery). Then there are vv's. These can be set to many different voltages usually ranging from aprox. 3.2 to 6v. Juices will change in flavor due to the different levels of heat provided. If you already know an e-cig (pv) is working for you, I would suggest a vv. There ate MANY available and you should really decide on a price you're comfortable with and research all avail. On this site. Many people who only own 1 or 2 will, of course, recommend the one they use without knowing what others are like. Research and ask questions! Take your time.

Ed, you can get inexpensive variable voltage units now. For a $34.99 VV box mod: Variable Voltage Box Mod

There is an Ego with an optional voltage booster that you can buy. Here is a FAQ thread on it http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/happyvaper/202635-ego-booster-faq.html

There are also other small VV box mods out there as well as some middle of the road such as Little Sister VV and Big Brother VV Little Sister Variable Voltage

Also a eGo variable voltage passthrough available and is pretty inexpensive. Here is a thread on it (though others may be selling it) http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...re-free-ego-carrying-case-product-photos.html

I have also have the Buzz units but have only been using my Darwin since I bought it. Pricey, but to me worth every penny.

More variable voltage units should be coming out of China soon... everyone seems to be making them... so the prices will drop. A VV passthrough for at home might be a good option for now until the competition takes over and prices drop.
