I've searched YouTube, and the threads posted on ecf, and haven't really found my answers...

I just received the sample pack of ReadyXWick.

If anyone is familiar with it, I'd like to make dual coils, and get about a .3 or .35ohm resistance.

Do you suggest using the 2mm or 3mm RxW? I tend to vape a lot of 80%vg juices.....should I use the 3mm for thicker juices?

Also, I've seen coils with ReadyXWick, where the wick is simply a small, horizontal piece of RxW, with no 90 degree bends so the wick doesn't drop down into the juice well. How does the juice in the juice well get to the ReadyXWick?

Should the ReadyXWick be in a U shape, with the legs going down to the bottom of the atty?

I will be building this on a Velocity RDA, if that matters.

Thanks in advance! (If anyone has photos, that would be helpful)!

The best threads are down in the REOS Mods section down with the vendors. Use 1.5mm coils for the 2mm and 2.5 for the 3mm. You can go a little smaller, the specific drill bit sizes are in the threads. The wick doesn't work as well with sharp bends which is why you see stubby pieces, they're in drippers or bottom feeders. I think general consensus is the 3mm works best if there is room, I use it for my Nuppin's and use the 2mm in my Challice where I'm limited on space and got tired of over squonking to get the wick wet.

Thanks for the info, TX!
I ended up building 7/64 coils, dual, and installed them at a 45 degree (?) angle, using the 2mm ReadyXWick, if anyone's interested....

Doesn't seem to be much interest.

So far, it delivers great flavor. I can also drip into the bottom of the atty, which, with ReadyXWick, is not filled with cotton but remains very empty, and the wick draws the juice up and to the coils very well! It's easier to remove the drip tip and simply drip through the top, and not have to worry about the juice falling on the cotton. I can fill the bottom of the juice well with 12-15 drops, and know that the wick will bring it to the coils!

Here's a photo of a similar build to what I used.....

I'm surprised that coil worked, it does best if it's squeezed a little bit so there's plenty of contact between the wick and the coil.

There's not much going on in the RxW part 2 thread unless there's a new post, if you include part one it's huge so there's not much that hasn't been said about it. There's also the fact that the stuff works and you don't have to mess with it very much once you get it going. The only issue I've had is the 2mm tends to burn trough at the edge of my coil after a few weeks and have to change it because the wicking ability slows down.

I saw the two threads on ReadyXWick, but couldn't find the answer to my main question, which was how is the wick supposed to be laid in the atty... in a U shape, ,or straight, and if straight, how would the juice from the bottom of the RDA get to the wick?

I found the photo above, and decided to simply go with that method... angling the coils at a 45 degree, in opposite directions, so that a straight wick would go to the bottom of the atty.

Seems to be working well, and sucks up all juice at the bottom very well!~

You have it right. Think of it like a hose, if you pinch it off it won't work.

This is 2mm I use in my Chalice. it's a bit tight and probably doesn't wick as well as it could. It keeps me from over squonking and filing the air hole that sits directly in front of the coil. It's the bend that matters, I've done builds with lots of room with equal, amounts of wick on both ends of the coil. Those wicked great, I've just found I like twisted duals a little better and I can stuff as much RxW under the hood.

@Shel I saw your original post yesterday but didn't have time to respond. Congrats on moving over to RxW. It is all I have used for about 16-18 months now. I started out with 2mm and slowly figured out the 3mm is more to my liking. I contributed a fair amount in the threads that @TX Foilhead had mentioned over in the REO forum. I would have to say that as far as the forum is concerned, RxW is probably used more by us in the bottom feeding crowd. It is very low maintenance and just works well when all you have to do is squonk and the wick is fed. Dripping for most of us just became such a hassle and BF'g is basically the same as dripping with the liquid already onboard in the device and we get the same great flavor that dripping provides in most cases.

Glad you figured out that it needs to be angled for most RDA's. I have run a couple RDA's with a straight coil and both ends turned down into the drip well and it is not so bad. I am still experimenting with it in that set up, but so far i really don't see much of a difference. I am only using slight bends in it as opposed to sharp constricting bends. Those won't work very well at all. The RxW wicks more like a straw than anything else and it depends highly on not having the the inner diameter pinched off. I will add that it really shines best if it is fit very snugly inside the coils. I noticed on the 2mm you wrapped a 7/64" diameter coil. Most of us have found a 1/16" diameter coil to be the most efficient. As to the 3mm RxW, I personally have found that a 2.5mm diameter coil is what works best. The RxW needs to be screwed into the coil to insure you have the best wick to coil contact.

Drop on in to the thread we have over in the REO forum anytime and ask any and all questions you want. I am sure as soon as you ask there will be several that are very willing to give you all the feedback and answers you need....

@muzichead Sorry for the slow response, my family went on a trip to Big Sur and Monterey, and there was no internet on the entire trip!

I actually enjoyed the break from the web/email/videos, but my kids were jonesing! I swear, its (the internet) like a drug!

Anyways, I'll definitely drop by that thead and read up somemore on ReadyxWick... enjoying it, so far!

Thanks again!
