Greetings fellow vapers. In my time vaping i have learned that I really like the fruity flavors that acually taste like fruit (as opposed to candy). Being a newcommer to the world of DIY I have found that some of the flavorings im buying taste more like candy than actual fruit. I was wondering what recomendations on realistic fruit flavorings more experienced mixers would have. Ive heard good things about PA's black cherry, and it is on my next order. The flavors im REALLY wanting are raspberry and peach. (Ms. T's raspberry is AMAZING btw, exactly what a raspberry tastes like, peach....not so much, more like candy) Any advice, opinions, or recipies would be very appreciated! Thanks in advance!:)

The closest I have found so far is TPA's Pear to actually tasting like the fruit, but it tastes closer to canned, not fresh. (To me)

I have not found a Raspberry yet, but would really like to.

So far, my favorite Peach is FA's, but it seems to be off and I am having trouble getting the ratio right. (Experiments have been promising, but not quite right.)

It really is a trial and error process to find what works for you. What works for me may be nothing like what you'd expect.

Example: I've not been able to get TPA's Black Cherry to work as Black Cherry, but have had luck using it as a Cherry flavoring added to other flavors. While others seem to have great luck with it.

Please let me know when you get around to trying that raspberry lexi, I'd love to see what you thought of it! And in response to hoosier, you say you have had luck mixing black cherry, you havent come up with a good chocolate covered cherry recipie have you? Thats a recipie Ive been trying without much luck.
I ordered a bunch of flavors from PA today, looks like ill have to try FA next. Anyone know how well capella's fruit flavors compare?

I normally hesitate in recommending flavors as everyone has such different expectations and tastes. That said, I have to recommend the Peach at Backwoods Brew. Backwoods is a supplier at ecf so go check out his thread and look at some of the flavor review threads. I think every other person raves about his Peach flavor. To me, it tastes just like a hunk of ripe, sweet peach juice is dripping on your tongue. I found myself checking my carto to see if it was leaking. Nope, apparently just something the vapor does to your taste buds. Its definitely worth a try. My husband loves it too...one of the few flavors we agree on.

I am searching for a good "genuine" raspberry flavor too. So far I'm getting the taste of raspberry gummy bears...not the fruit. And I'd like one mixed with chocolate as well. If anyone finds one...please post here, or send me a pm. Ditto for cherry...closest I've come is a cherry lifesaver taste. Not so good. Most of the fruit flavors have a chemical or perfume taste to me. (especially pear...Yuck).

I like bananas (I am the ape lady, afterall). No real luck there either...BUT, I did find a banana walnut flavor at freedomsmokesusa that tastes like the real deal. Exactly like home baked banana nut bread...using real bananas. Definitely worth an honorable mention.

Good luck...and keep me posted on any successes.

Sorry, want a chocolate covered cherry too. Haven't figured it out yet. My hangup is chocolate.

My closest milk chocolate attempt to date tastes like a cross between chocolate milk made from Herseys syrup and Tootsie Rolls. While I'm quite happy I've gotten that close, it is still far from what I want.

(I may be one of the dreaded "chocolate snobs" since my uncle and late aunt made chocolate and they educated my tongue.)

(Still have fond memories of picking raspberries for my aunt for the promise of raspberry creame filled later.)

Hoosier, have you tried DIYFlavorshack's expert chocolate? It's pretty good. Better than all the chocolates I've tried. I admit that I haven't tried Capella's double chocolate yet, though.

Yeah, I've tried Cap's double and it didn't "do" it for me.

Haven't tried the expert, but it is now on my list! Thanks for the suggestion. Do they have any other flavors that you like? Since I've never tried their flavors it might be nice to get a selection of samples. (For some reason I'm unable to order just one flavor unless it is something I use a lot of and can get it in a large quantity.)

I have the doughnut and poundcake flavors and I like those also. The poundcake more than the doughnut. I like to add it to my cakey bases along with cinn danish swirl.

WOW!! I cant beleive all the resposes this thread has gotten. Seems Im not the only one searching for my "perfect" flavor. Cant help you with the chocolate, like you I have yet to find a decent chocolate (I also have not tried capellas). Im gonna have to try that blueberry muffin though, I also have some of the pound cake! :) I ordered 20 new flavors from PA yesterday, gonna have to wait for some more dead presidents ($$$) before i can get my FA order placed. Ill let you all know if i come across any good fruit flavors in my order, or good chocolate! Thank you all for your responses! Keep em comming!!!

Axe,

I agree with sandyk, Pure Vapes ships quick and has good pricing. Fairly well stocked in FA flavors too. A good way to stretch your DIY $ while expanding your selection of flavors. (I just ordered some Hypnotic Mist, which is one you have to try as trying to describe the flavor is useless because I have not met 2 people who agree with each other on what it tastes like.)

If you ever go with Capellas... I think I have an all Cap Blueberry Muffin recipe on the Recipe sub-forum. It is good, but I am always trying to make things better.

I have a bunch of lorann flavors already, have 20+ from PA i ordered yesterday comming. Guess ill have to hold off on the more expensive Capella for now! I saw that recipie for blueberry muffin, it almost made me order Capella before PA, but i decided to go with quantity this order, try as much as i can! :)
