Really Confused, can anyone help?

Hi everyone, I am new here. My name is Amanda and I am a mom to 3. Obviously smoking is a bad example for my kids and while I was able to quit for all 3 pregnancies/nursing, I always started back up again. In addition my best friend is pregnant and is in nursing school, she quit smoking and really wants me to as well, so i set her baby's due date as my quit date (6/12/10.)

So anyway, tax money is coming soon so I decided to finally take the plunge and buy an e-cig. So i started (resumed) my research. I finally landed on youtube last night were I ran across people doing reviews and listing this site, so i decided to check it out. Anyway (and I hope I don't get in trouble for listing a competitor site) before coming here I was trying to decide between two e-cigs.

Vapor King...but Vapor King from a different website. And there lies my confusion... Vapor King here and Vapor King there... but are they the same? I mean some of it looks a lot alike, but then it doesn't. It was the 510 I was looking at on that site, but once I found this one I was attracted to the different color options, better pricing, and I like the charging case here a lot better.

Also, one more thing that has me confused. Refilling... I noticed that the e-cigs from Vapor4Life have the built in atomizer (which i like) but can those be refilled with liquid when they run out? The cartridge I mean. Also, if you can refill them how many times or how long before the built in atomizer runs out?

Anything else I should know? I plan to buy possibly Monday, assuming my hubby gets paid on time for the big job he's doing this weekend.

sorry to keep replying to myself, but this is what I was looking at getting

dang, can't post a link

I was planning to get the Vapor King Ultimate Shorty Kit to start out, from Vapor4life

can anyone tell me if the auto batteries are suck activated or sound? Sound would be bad as I have 3 young (loud) kids. I don't smoke indoors, but I store things indoors.

Also, my cigg of choice is marlboro medium, can anyone tell me what would work with this particular e-cig that would be comparable to start with? I plan to wean down to 0 nicotine eventually.

I have my 808 comming soon Hopfully today!!!
Auto batts are suck activated
I also am getting the XL batts for longer life.
They say that the cartomizers are easy too fill, and you could probably fill what you need the night before so you don't have to mess with it when the kids are driving you crazy and you could just get your nic fix.
Remember I have not got mine yet, but have been studying hard for a month before I placed my order. Ethier way I believe that this is going to be much better than smoking.
Good luck in your quest!!!:thumb:

Just linked this elsewhere but may fit you:

Vapor4Life- Electronic Cigarette: Vapor King Ultimate Starter Kit

With batts that last 6-8 hours you shouldn't need the PCC and this kit comes with a usb charger so you could charge in the car with a usb car charger - but you should check with the vendor on how many amps you'll need on the car charger - I think these require 1.3amps so you'll have to look around for one..... maybe not... they sell this one at 1amp:

so many questions to address the OP (original poster)
I believe that both vapr kings are the same, you can refill the cartomizers with juice, ( with the kr808 for sure, but i imagine you can can with others)
vapr4life is a trusted and excellent company to go through
If your in too 510's which I recommend, not as simple as a cartomizer, but IMO more reliable, check out rockymountainvapor.com great pricing and color options, also healthcabin.net has a few other colors, (little more pricey because their in China)
Cignot.com has the best value for 510, but they dont have as many asthetic options, pretty standard, but CHEEP!!
Hope this helps, congrats and welcome!

Moving on:
I dont believe that XL batts will fit in the PCC, I know they DO NOT for 510 and alot of others, I think their might be some mods to fix this (the problem is not that they will not charge, its that they dont fit)

AUTOMATIC batts are activated by "suck" however they are very touchy things, hitting it, exhaling into it, and even sound can, and do, activate it, I recommend manual batts,
(exludes cartomizers, they work either way)

the main problem ppl run into with auto bats, is juice leaks into the batt, and clogs the switch so you get a very incosistant batt, or one that doesn't work at all, i know some companies have worked to fix this, but I still wouldn't trust it (<== applies more with dripping, but can happen with carts too)
again hope this helps ALOHA

The e-cigs from Vapor Kings and Vapor4Life are NOT the same product. The VK from V4L is a 2-piece unit and it works great - though I would not recommend the shorty kit because the XL batteries last twice as long and they're just plain better, in my opinion. Also, the manual batteries produce a better flavor and more vapor than the shorties. Again, my opinion.

You don't say how much you currently smoke. Most people are happy with 18-24mg to start with but I had to start at 36mg to keep the cravings at bay. Now I vape anywhere from 18-36mg depending upon my mood and the time of day. I would recommend that you order at least a one pack of 24mg cartos. Alternately, you could order blank cartos and some 5ml bottles of juice in different strengths and flavors. They cost only $3 each and it's a fairly cheap way to figure out your best picks.

Yes, you can refill the Vapor4Life cartos quite easily, but they are designed to be disposable so you can't refill forever. I get anywhere from 5-10+ refills per carto.

Good luck!

I'm 5 days in with the ultimate kit from V4L. All I can tell you is that I love it. Seconding the above post, I wouldn't just get shorties; if I had to choose one minimal newbie arrangement it would be one extra long batt and a charger, 1 regular length, 1 passthrough (really, really - passthru is GREAT), and a wide assortment of cartomizer flavors - the samplers seem a good way to start. I prefer automatics tho that is far from consensus here, and I might be about to change my mind on that. But whatever you get, I bet you'll end up wanting more stuff - I'm glad I got the big kit, myself. The shipments come very quickly to me, anyway (I say shipments because I'm ordering new flavors and things every day, look out! Just too cool...)
Welcome to vaping: I'm guessing that you're going to be really surprised and happy.

I also am the mother of 3 and I use V4L.Its a great product and simple to use.My choice is always xlong manual batteries.Get the 5 ml juice to match your carts so you can refill or top off.2 xlongs should get you through the day no problem.I would also get the lanyard,so you dont set it down where kids can get it or loose it running around.

I looked at the XL's again but I am thinking they are too long, I would rather closer to regular cig size. I am thinking if I get a 2 batt kit maybe I can get one auto and one manual and see what I like best. I am quite attracted to the cartomizer setup, but not opposed to a 3 pc system.

Oh I smoke 1/2 a pack a day on average, sometimes slightly less. In spring and fall a little more since I smoke outside. Winter its freezing, Summer is over 100... so I avoid it more, lol. Usually a pack lasts me 2 days though.

Also, I want to order enough to get me through 2-3 months at a time. So I was thinking the kit, some extra cartridges (depending which system I go maybe an extra atomizer), and 2-3 bottles of the liquid in different flavors. Does that sound about right?

you THINK right now that the closer looking it is to a cig the better, but I can tell you that you will disabuse yourself of this notion fairly shortly after you get one!:)
Many many people start out with this same idea 'if it looks like a cig...etc..it will be better' but what they OFTEN find is that the really small ones (and cigs are small comapred to most PVs) don't give them what they want most - whcih is lots of vapor, taste and TH. Expereienced users then start buying things like battery mods which make the PV look pretty different from anything cigartte like (actually a lot of them look like miniature car exhaust units! lol).
Try and forget size and think practicality if you can.
If you want longer battery life (without a mod) then you will need a bigger machine. If you want a 2 piece its likely to be bigger if you want the carts to last more than a minute between refills.
There's a post in the ECF Library thread from DonDaBoomvape that shows pretty much ALL styles of PV and what they can/cannot achieve. It even shows mods. It's very informative! The downside is it doesn't show them 'in hand' so scale is hard to judge, although he does put measurements.
DO get lots of liquid - preferrably from more than one supplier. I made this mistake - got juice only from one place. After a week I bought from other places (go check out the E-Liquid reviews thread for ideas!) and the difference was night n day. Much better experience. Extra attys are also a must unless your kit comes with more than one or 2. This is because some juices may linger flavorwise, or an atty may break unexpectedly (it happens unfortunately), and you don't want to be without a backup.
You might want to look at PT or PCC type accessories - but you may also want to wait and see how you get on with your PV.
One (more) thing to remember, you don't smoke it like you smoke a ciggie. The draw is longer and slower on MOST models.
I hope that was some help and not confusing you further :)
Good luck!

Take the time to read Wonderful World of Vaping. It will answer many of your questions!

It is generally best to go by the model number when referring to these things... it helps to keep you from getting confused!

The Kr8 is the one with the atomizer in the cartridge. That combination is called a cartomizer. It goes by several names... including Kr808D-1, Vapor King (from V4L), and many, many others!

The Joye 510 is a good basic three piece model (battery, atomizer, cartridge) that has many fans.

I happen to have both... and a couple of others. I like the Kr8 best when I am driving or doing things where refilling a cartridge would be inconvenient. The 510 seems to give me more of a 'hit' than the Kr8, but it does it with a loss of some flavor.

Don't worry too much about which to start with. You can always try something else later!

Good luck on your quest!

:)

I totally disagree with this. I have an automatic kr8-d1 from lecig. I carry them everywhere, in the car, to school, literally everywhere. They are often in my pocket or purse and i have never had one activate by music, dropping it, or for any other reason other than me inhaling on it. In fact, I would never own a manual battery because they would easily turn on by bumping the button up against something in my purse or while in my pocket.

The cartomizers are very easy to refill and you never have to worry about juice getting in the battery as long as its not overfilled. For this reason, i always unscrew the cartomizer before putting juice in and i havent had a problem...ever.

Just for clarification, the two piece model that vapor4life carries is also called a kr8, 808, kr808d-1, Vapor King, Nebula, Vaperello, DPVP9, Fusion, Zeus, ECV92, HQV92, 208D, and Nhaler

If you are worried about getting a kit with the "old" style two piece then i would recommend purchasing from LeCig, Vapor4Life, or Nhaler as i know the kr8's they carry are fine since I have purchased them and use them :)

That is the best list I have ever seen of the Kr8 models! I should copy it and save it somewhere!!!

And I agree that the Kr8 model automatic batteries are not overly sensitive. They activate by suction whereas many other models automatic batteries activate by sound.

I am having a hard time finding the model number on some of these I am looking at online, uggg.

I think I know what I want now, I just need the cash!!!!

Yeah... some places are tricky that way... they don't seem to want you to know what the actual model is. I try to only buy from places that are upfront about what they are selling. Makes it easier for me to know what I'm getting.

I echo Guineahill's commendation! Where did you come up with some of those? I've never heard of DPVP9, ECV92, HQV92, or 208D.

You did, however, omit PureSmoker's Ace, CigEasy's Easy, and GoodProphets' VapoRite.:D
