So i used to smoke around 100 cigarettes a week (disgusting i know). So i turned to e-cigs for health reasons.

I have this Clearomizer: VapeOnly 2.5ml ET-S Glass BDCC Cartomizer/Clearomizer Kit

And this battery: EGO II 2200mAh - GS EGO II 2200mAh

I simply placed my Blueberry 24mg into the e-cig (and no, i did not pour any into the middle).

I don't know if it was because i started vaping straight after pouring the e liquid but the taste was not a sweet blueberry, it was foul. No other words really, it made me feel quite sick!

Any help at all? Thanks alot - Dan

It's possible you have a burnt coil. If the coil is toast you'll have to throw away all the juice in the tank and put in a new coil (the burnt can seep into the good juice). Make certain to "prime" the coil" whenever you swap one out. I usually cover the air holes with fingers and take a few short draws to saturate the wick and then let it sit for a while before using. Good luck.

Hey Dan, yes follow advice from nutz and make sure to allow the juice to soak into and fully saturate the wick before vaping. some say to let stand for up to 20 mins before using. Priming really helps to saturate. The cotton is inside the coilhead, threaded through the coil(s) inside. You can see the holes on the side of the coil head will show a little bit of the cotton or silica wicking material inside. Let us know how it fares after a proper prepping. Good luck and happy vaping.

24mg is pretty high, if you ask me. When I started (I was a 2 pack-a-day smoker) I was on 12mg in a similar clearo tank, and that, at times, was too much nicotine for me. Pretty quickly stepped down to 6mg.

Anyway, what I'm saying is: Do you have any other, lesser nicotine'd e-juice that you can try? High nic e-juice can be a bit harsh on the throat or peppery in flavor at times.

And to answer your question, the wicking material will be silica or a similar type of mystery-wick in those coil heads. It's just like.. Built contained into the head, you won't really be able to see it unless you disassemble the whole coil head.

I suspect the wick never had a chance to soak. Either that, or you experienced what many now regard as "the curse of the dreaded BDC".

I bought an Aspire ET-S with the total intention of fitting it with the small BVC coils. So, I thought - w.t.h. might as well use the BDC coil and "see how she vapes."

or maybe you already have the BVC?

either way, my experiment lasted less than 24 hours. It kind of worked, but only just.

24mg liquid seems very high for 100-a-week.... but that's a side issue.

24mg might be too high - I smoked 1-1/2 pks a day and 18mg was too high for me.

You probably also burnt the coil. Do as suggested above - replace coil and juice, then make sure to properly soak the wick (primer puffs - draw on the device without pushing the button, then let it sit for a while) before vaping.

What's your PG-VG ratio? High VG probably won't do well in your device - more likely to burn the coil and cause those nasty tasting dry hits.

24 mg is very likely the cause of the bad taste. As others have said, you could have also burnt out the coil by not wicking it properly or using it at too high of voltage. Higher voltage is not often necessary, especially for a clearomizer. It could also just be a bad juice flavor, or needed to be "steeped" for a few days prior to vaping it.

It looks like you are using a generic variation of the Kanger Evod.

you got a dry hit.
the liquid needs time to wick it's way to the coil.

take it slow
