So I've been reading all these posts for modifications involving the juicebox and smaller nicostick mods, and they all seem to have one thing in common. For the most part, the connector to the atomizer is cannibalized from a dead battery.

I'm broke as can be, so I was thinking that it might be possible to reuse the switch from the battery instead of buying a new one, as well as possibly using the built in circuit/led for a case led. Gonna head to radio shack today and see if I can manage to get a 4aa case (with the 5 bucks I have) to experiment. Assuming I don't manage to blow my fingers off I'll post the results.

Just so everyone knows, the base model I'm working with is the 510.

Edit:Also I may experiment with adding a reservoir for liquid and an auto-drip cart. We'll see.

I know you said you were broke but madvapes sells the battery/atty adapter. It's $2.69.

And the battery box. It's $2.89.

Of course, those two items would blow your $5 budget and then there's shipping I would imagine.:(

madvapes have all the parts to DIY this stuff though. Just thought you might like to know for future reference when the big money starts flowing.

I have no affiliation with madvapes.

Many many moons ago, I was that skint. (without money)
But now, I'm not so skint, Its just that the wife, kids, dogs, cats, fish and birds take it all.
Re-using what you have is a great idea, It just bloody hard work to extract and use them.

But also, look around the house,
Old toys and games contain LED's / switches. (Destroy to build).
Why buy when you can cannibalized.!!!!!!!!!1
It is a lot more fun.!!

Worst case scenario I've still got enough to go back and buy a momentary switch, but the ones they sell are so friggin big I'd rather use the smaller one that comes with the battery. That and if I can manage to remove the need to buy batteries (eventually using aa nimh or nicd rechargeables) then I'd say keeping it as cheap of a mod as possible would be best.

now for the update...
I now know why noone reuses the led and switch, the way they are wired just doesn't lend itself to working properly. also, i've destroyed a battery for no reason as i can't solder due to my mother misplacing my soldering iron. Sooo....now to see if i can rig something with an rca jack to get me by until i can corner her and make her find it.

Edit:Managed to get it working. (sorta) Hot glued most of the parts together, had to use an rca jack (and the wrong side too with the prong cut down) and it somewhat works. Gonna see if i can manage to glue wires to the connector successfully and if so I may ditch the rca jack.
