I do my MPT2 coil heads with 30ga Kanthal. If annealed first, I get a nice tight coil no problem. The 28ga Kanthal takes 12 wraps and just won't fit well in the cup. With the 30 ga I only use 8 wraps and it fits great.

34g Kanthal? Man thats def not an enjoyable build to do. Anything 32 and over really doesn't hold its form good enough for me to bother with. If you try to make a tight micro coil it springs, and unravels and just isnt fun to use. 28 and 26 guages are awesome though. I'm sure it wouldnt work on rebuilding stock coils with wire that big, but when you get into pure rebuildables, def go that route. Much more of a pleasure to work with.

I use a mini torch so I only do 1 pass on my 30ga, but I shoot for 1.8 ohms....about 8 wraps on a drill bit that fits into the cup. Not sure what size it is actually. A toothpick works well too though it's hard to get the tooth pick out of the coil cause I wrap the wire close and tight.

I toast my 32 gauge on two passes with a cig lighter, and they do fine, and fit nicely. Five wraps and I generally hit 2.5 on the nose.

I wrap on 3mm silica, with a long quilting pin though the middle.

I just stopped analogs and went full vape on Good Friday. I've been using Kanger tanks, they work great but I with you that the coils/heads are taking a big chunk out of my budget.

Just last week I strated trying a rebuildable, a Kayfun Light clone. It has been very frustrating, the videos make it look real easy and I can tell you it is not unless you have the hands of a surgeon. I keep getting a nasty cotton flavor on the exhale.

I've gotten some good advise on this forum on a possible solution, but be prepared to spend a lot of time learning to rebuild and get a tank that doesn't have issues. You may want to enjoy your new life without cigarettes a little longer before you take on this frustrating endeavor.

A single coil IS very easy. You just have to use lower guage wire like 28 so it keeps its form and dont have you cursing yourself. You have to learn the ins and outs of each type of tank, and the KFL clones and genuine KFLs cannot have ANY cotton wick going into the channels. It has to sit on that upper deck free of blocking that flow from coming in. This can give you the burned hits, and also it may not be p rimed enough. Easy resolve on that one though, just pull the drip tip off and direct drip like 6-8 drops right down the tube which will absorb right into the cotton and take away that burned cotton taste. But if you do that, and you have cotton blocking the juice channels at all, its only time until that taste will come back as the wicking is not at its optimal rate.

I use eVods and PTII, and felt sure that this is the level I'd stay at. But recently I am beginning to see my future with something like the Kayfun or Russian. It's the leaking that can happen with Kanger products that bothers me. Not that I don't know how to fix a leak, but still, less hassle with something else maybe. I already build my own coils for my eVods and a non-brand dripper, so not too different I'd imagine. I'm being patient and waiting a while. Maybe I'll feel different in the future.

Kayfun 3.1 clone Zero leaks from day one for me. Also the coils last forever it seems. I am at 2 weeks on this coil. And still rolling. I did rewick about 5 days ago when I tried what I can only describe as freeze dried coffee flavored ejuice. It was soo potent the smell of coffee lasted through a dry burn on a silica wick.
