Man, it's clearly been a long time since I looked at new set ups.

Where the hell did sigelei come from? Tons of mechnical telecoping mods for like 40 bucks each... wow. Last time I looked for a similar mod they were like 200 bucks. Probably pay for what you get, but whatever.

Anyway, I'll be getting a couple new toys and I've been looking at getting a rebuildable atty. Can anyone recommend one from Canvape? https://www.canvape.com/category-s/1887.htm

I'm looking at the AGI and the Vision Eternity (for my Ego set up). Also, are there any good threads/websites for rebuildable noobs? You know, tips and the like... and what wire/wick to use.

Oh and I guess I might as well ask... where the hell are the descriptions for the Sigelei mods? There's just a weak picture on Canvape - that's it. And when I go to Sigelei website and try to match up the mod numbers, they don't seem to be the same (?) There's like 250 telescoping mods on their website

Hi there, your looking at the mech mods, in the pic id skip these for now but up to u. I'd go with the zmax v3 telescoping, I own 2. Or the Vamo I own 3. For a topper go with the aga-T if u want a rebuildable. I also recommend the SVD kit.

Canvape is fast and real good prices for a local vendor.

Others well be around to mention other great systems for yah, alls good.

Yeah Canvape rocks. I was around when Mopar opened up shop. Good guy, and they have always been amazing to deal with in my experience.

I don't really want another VV mod. I've had a few and I just never really use the function of it. Only one I have right now is the Innokin MVP. I just prefer mech mods.

So what does the AGA-T have over the AGI? Really I just like the look of the AGI... nice and clean. Reviews all seemed pretty favourable.

May be the opposite of you...I prefer the vv/vw mods, but simply play around with the mechs.

I own a Drawtube mech mod, not available at Canvape. It's made with a thicker ss, received favorable reviews, which is what attracted me towards it compared to the Sigelei lineup. It compares to the real deal at a fraction of the cost. Just hasn't received the fanfare that other clone's have, perhaps due to distribution.

If I did want another mech mod I'd look at the Smoke Magneto. Solid mod, which a magnetic switch. The only issue with V1 was the centre pin not adjusting, according to Smoktech, V2 will have that feature. I believe Canvape will carry it shortly.

However, I did purchase the RSST rba at Canvape based on the ease of use. Spring loaded coil attachment is super easy. The only drawback is the liquid compartment is not glass.

+1 for the AGA-T (and Mopar and Canvape, for that matter)

The Sigeleis are metal battery tubes with a switch. Some may need a bit of tweaking but that should be easy. The #19 seems to be mentioned a lot these days (in a positive way) and any short comings seems to be easy to address.
Another device that seems to have gotten a lot of positive words is the Sentinel clone from Fasttech.

Canvapes does not list it on their site but I picked one up at their table at Vapecan.
I picked it up to cannibalize it for parts but can't bring myself to do that now. The bugger just works too well.

Wow, lots of cheap options these days. The Magneto piqued my interest.

I actually ended up ordering a #13 Sigelei. The 19 was sold out at canvape. I also got the KTS GGTS. Both are cheap as dirt so if I don't like them it's not a big deal. I can always recoup a bit of funds by selling them.

I went with the AGI rebuildable... hopefully it's alright.

You'll be surprised at only 40 bucks ! Prices have gone down a lot, they're now machined by the thousands, you can now just order 2 for like 80$ and already have your backup :)

Vision Eternity is pretty good, very very easy to change coil, the only problem is the drip tip cannot be changed, you have to like it's shape and feel from the get go.

What does RSST and AGA even stand for?

I tried to do a search but...

I don't think they stand for anything but I could be wrong. The RSST is an RBA(ReBuildable Atomizer) made by Smok and is supposed to be a clone of the AC-9 RBA. The AGA is made by Youde Technology. When people say AGA, they usually are talking about the AGA-T+ which has a plastic tank or the AGA-T2 which is the same as the T+ but with a glass tank. They did have an AGA-T that had a threaded on top cap and knurling on the top and bottom of the RBA but they no longer sell it I believe. YD aka Youde also makes the AGI which can be used as a RBA genesis or a dripper RDA(Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer).

The best companies to get mechanicals from right now are Hcigar which make a Chi You clone. They are also releasing a Nemesis clone and a Surefire Vapor King clone. EHpro is also selling some really good devices such as the EA (Electric Angel) clone, Nizonic clone, Bagua clone, Caravela clone, and DHX-TS. EHpro also sells a Trident RDA clone and a Nimbus RDA clone. Those are 2 companies that have really been producing some great products. With Sigelei, most of the devices they are selling have things that need to be tweaked to get them to work properly. I have the #13, #19, and #61. I have also owned the #8 and #20. They all needed some modifications out of the box to get them working properly. I also have the Bagua from them on the way eventually. If you check out Vape Squad, they do reviews of a lot of devices including the Sigelei's.

Ok, got the gear today... Short summary of initial thoughts:

Sigelei #13 - I was pretty shocked when I got it. I thought it felt relatively robust, and all the threads were buttery smooth. I popped a battery in and tried my EVOD BCC which is my go-to carto these days. It was auto firing. Damn. I unscrew everything and holy crap that switch is a POS. Anyone else have the 13? Know of any mods to the switch? Like honestly, the spring switch they use is garbage and I simply can't trust it. I'm going to have to go to the hardware store and engineer a new switch altogether. The design is just bad and prone to misfiring, even with the lock collar engaged. I've never seen a design like this. It's hysterical they even have a lock collar which such a shady system. There's this crappy Chinese spring wrapped around a plastic pole. The spring widens and extends down over a brass pole. The switch pushes one side of the spring until it contacts the brass pole. So you have this brass pole and 360 degrees of potential contact that is entirely unprotected. Garbage.

KTS GGTS - this is a nice looking unit, but the metal is too thin. Bummer. Still, it has a decent switch and all the threads were pretty good. I don't dig the top much, but at least I can use this mod out of the box. I like it for how much I spent. And on the plus side, it's light.

Vision Eternity - I'm guessing this is the noob RBA. Wicks pre-assembled and vaped nicely right from the get go. But I'm so confused as to where I put the juice. Do I have to use an Ego tank to have more than half a mL in this thing? I don't want to refill 6 times a day. Bah! Vapes nice tho.

AGI RBA - so this was the first time I actually had to wrap my own coil. Seems straight forward, but my set up was pretty crappy. I'll have to fiddle with it more. What I'm more concerned about was leaking juice. I dunno why it happened but my entire tank slowly leaked out. Everything was tight as can be so I dunno. Maybe the end of the wick was stuck under the glass? I didn't look. Just set it aside.

I'm kinda thinking the RBA thing isn't for me. The EVOD BCC is just so nice. I vape unflavoured juice too, which practically quadruples the life of any carto/atomizer. Current coil is still going strong after well over a month. Next time I'll just get the pro tank. Uses the same coils as then EVOD BCC, so I should like it... provided no leaks.

So my first and only RBA I own and have put together is the Smoktech RSST. On my first try everything worked and it was working quite well, however towards the end of the day every decent hit tasted burnt. I went to my local e-cig store and they couldn't really help me much since the lady who works with RBAs is off on Sunday and the only suggestion was to try another wick. So I put in a new wick (which I oxidized like the first) but i still have that burnt taste. Bummer. I was so excited when I set it up and it worked great on my first try, but now I'm just disappointed and not exactly sure what is wrong with the thing :(.

Anyway, any tips would be welcome, here is a picture of my set up:

Thanks everybody :)

Yea I am just a newb when it comes to working with these kinds of materials. I did notice s hot spot but couldn't get rid of it. I even rewicked and recoiled it with new wire and same hot spots happening. Anyone in Orange County California wanna help me out? Right now I'm not using it at all anf itcseems like such a waste of money and time. It was like $35 for the atomizer and almost another $20 for the 2 pieces of stainless steel mesh and the kanthal wire. So it's a bummer. I have one fresh piece of stainless steel mesh unoxidized and unopened and plenty of wire but I need someone with more experience to show me exactly what I'm doing wrong.

Try wrapping a coil around a drill bit in the atty. Find a bit that fits the wick hole the best. Then wrap the coil and remove the drill bit. Then heat both sides of the mesh sheet but don't oxidize it. This is to burn off any oils and stuff. Then roll it and run the lighter under it again. Then place the wick in the coil. Hopefully the wick is the same size as the coil. Then pulse the coil with a half discharged battery until it starts glowing evenly. Then after it is glowing run it for a few mins pulsing until the wick starts glowing. This is what oxidizes the mesh. Then you should be good to go. This is called the Peter K method. Hope this helps. If you need any more info or help, just let me know.

This video give a better explanation of how to do it.
