Hi guys.

I saw a guy on instagram producing ridiculous clouds of vapour. I wanted to give it a try and build one that produces lots of vapour.

I'm a noob at building, but what I've gathered is that, the lower the resistance the bigger the cloud ? Am I right. If so is there some safety issues that I need to know before building a ridiculously low resistance atomizer ?

Would the rebuildable do the juice any justice regarding taste ?

read read and read more about building coils and the saftey of it, and also read all you can find on battery saftey.

make sure you know what your doing before you build anything sub ohm, and use your multi meter, ohm checker on all your builds before you fire them.

You need not do ridiculously low resistance to get very good vapor. I know guys who do that, but I would not go there. I'm very happy at .8 ohm, that being my vaping sweet spot with my RBA's and mechs. If you are intending to go cloud chasing PLEASE do your homework first, learn Ohm's law, learn about batteries and discharge rates, and use the right equipment. Bad things can happen to those who rush in without doing their homework. Please don't be one of those.

Yes and no. Wicking material, wire type, coil method, and juice delivery to the coil all contribute. Low resistance in and of itself won't get you diddly for vapor if your wick dries out constantly.

That being said, there's guys blowing some AMAZING clouds with "micro" and "nano" coils, and those aren't all sub-ohm (but CAN be).

Yes. A LOT of safety issues. Read the links that Baditude posted. Bad things can happen if you throw a crazy sub-ohm coil on the wrong battery.

It CAN, if done safely and properly. If you're willing to spend the time to learn, the payback is pretty darn good.

Same here, saw guys on vine and ig blowing clouds, after about an hour I had a shopping cart full of stuff and then, thankfully, stumbled onto ecf and read a few threads. It's been a couple of weeks of steady researching and watching other people do it. With a possibility of what can happen if done wrong, I'd rather read up a little and do it right.

Huge clouds are more about air flow management than coil resistance. Without proper air flow that 0.2 ohm coil will do nothing but fry whatever you put in it, and how that air crosses the coil will determine what you can/can't taste. So there is a lot more to a "good build" than just coil resistance.

However what you will discover in the end is that while the sub ohm stuff was fun to play with, RDA's can be a great vape without going there. I'm using a 2.1 ohm coil in my RDA, and it's just right in every respect.

okay, ive decided id rather go for micro coils, because theyre safer. is there any safety precautions i should take with micro coils ? or isit only sub ohms coils that i need to worry about ?

heres my first attempt at it, any ways to improve it ?

You always want to check for shorts & h0ot spots. ie: that long positive leg has the potential for being a hot spot.

You're using regulated device, so you can't go too low, and it has protection already

I have to be honest that I just don't get RBAs. I definitely get the "DIY" factor which is why I actually have and use one. That said, I like to swap flavors a lot so I find myself mostly using Protanks and such. It's just easier. The only thing still pulling me to the RBA is ceramic wicks. But even there I just rebuild my PT heads with ceramic.

One thing also that hasn't been mentioned is that these guys blowing huge clouds are also using 100% VG, No Nic juice. Your not gonna get the same cloud vaping your favorite juice (unless 100%VG and 0 nic). I love cloud chasing and have a IGO-W dual nanacoils sitting on cotton drilled out to 3/32". I don't vape 100% VG but i have some pretty nice clouds myself and I can vape my favorite juice. Cloud chasing is good for about 5 mins and showing off on a youtube vid and thats about it.

I like most of the tanks I own with a few exceptions, the Protanks especially, but I've gotta say that on its best day, the experience of a well put-together Protank is outclassed by a properly set up rebuildable, no sub-ohm required.

With my Reo and Reomizer combo, I usually have around 1.5 ohm resistance with a microcoil. I puff some intense clouds without going super low.

To give an idea, if I don't roll my window down in my car, the vapor totally blocks my vision.
