So i have been vaping for few months now and have tried a few different atomizers. I am enjoying it however, i do find vapour to be harsh, as in hard to smoke as the vapour hurts the throat of myself and pargicularly other who are not used to vaping.

I am posting this thread to ask for advice on selecting an atomizer that produces and nice cool, smooth smoke. From some reading and talking to other vapers i have been lead to believe that bottom fed atomizers may be smoother and also that atomizers with different levels of resistance may also have an affect.

Any help would be much appreciated. Onsh.:vapor:

As you don't tell us what atomizers, what battery, what juice and it's nicotine content or PG/VG blend is... all of which can contribute to your issues, it's hard to say... other than the advice you've commented on about BCC attys is, generally, true.
For most seeking advice in that regard, the Kanger EVOD would be a good choice... or any of the BCC Kanger clearos.

I would look into changing the PG/VG ratio in your juice before changing the the equipment. I had the same issue when I started but when I changed to a 50/50 blend I noticed a huge improvement.

Bottom coil clearomisers do indeed give a cooler vape. Kanger get the most mentions - the Evod T3S and of course the Protank. There are also lots of clones and copies.

If you find vaping painful, consider if you might have a sensitivity to PG. Someone else had this and I didn't realise that PG sensitivity could take that form until recently. The suggestion was to use a 100% VG juice to see if it helps. VG will give a thicker vape and will tend to mute the flavours, however it's preferable to finding it uncomfortable.

Smokers will often find that vaping makes them cough. Vapour is heavier than smoke and can cause a choke reflex in most people. Most people get used to it in a few days to a week.

Thanks for the advice everyone. Im not sure on my batteries specs other than it being a 1100ma. I have used a t3 long wick and a couple of different ce5+'s. The nicotine strength is high around the 30mg mark. I am pretty used to the vapour now and can pretty much smoke without any problems however, if my girl friend fancies a toke she can not do so without instantly coughing. I will try a different vg/pg blend, i have been meaning to try some juice from vapology. I do want to get myself a nice rebuildable head soon though so if changing juice doesnt work then i will try a new head.

Thanks again for the advice, it's very kind of you all. Happy vaping :)

If you move down a bit to 18-24 mg/ml nicotine, and a move to a higher VG content (than what you currently vape), that will serve to reduce "throat hit", mute flavor slightly and produce more vapor. Adding "flavor shots" (if available) can bring back some of the lost flavor. Speak directly to your juice vendor about what you're trying to accomplish, most will make solid recommendations.

30mg is a high nic content. That definitely won't help. Also, a high PG blend will be harsher than a 50/50 or max VG blend. Max VG likely wouldn't vape well in your tanks since it's a thicker liquid.

Not much to add. My learned colleagues already answered OP's question. :)

To summarize--use a juice with higher VG content (I like 70PG/30VG), stay away from top coils and dual coils, decrease nicotine strength to 12-18 mg/ml, don't vape at high wattages (5-6 watts is nice and effective) and try to not lung inhale every single time. Also, stay away from all known lung and respiratory tract irritants like cinnamon, clove, peppermint, alcohol and certain acids. Some light menthols are fine, though.

Did you mean to say T2 long wick? T3 and T3S are bottom coil clearos and come with short wicks. T2 is a top coil; I have both the short- and the long wick versions; they work fine for me, but you may want to stay away from top coils altogether. CE4 and T2 are both top coil models--the heating coil is placed right next to your mouth and some find it uncomfortable.
