Rebuilding a ViVi Nova

Hi everyone, so I have a vivi nova and would like to rebuild the coil. Could anyone please tell me what kind of wire that I should buy; and also where I would be able to purchase it at? Either a website or maybe even a common local store?

Kanthal A-1 is the wire you will be looking for. I am not certain where you can buy it locally, but eBay tends to be where most people get it. 28-36 gauge is what you are looking for depending if you want to build a low res coil, standard, or high res coil.

Oh and certain e cig stores carry the wire, but it tends to be expensive for a small amount.

Awesome, thanks! And I think I read somewhere before that if you want a low res coil (which is what I would want), you need to use a larger gauge. Is that correct?

cotton. and get the thinner wire, if you want lower resistance just use fewer wraps....i personally rebuild everything with kanthal 32 gauge.

I agree with elmattias about kanthal 32 gauge wire and cotton. A few things to understand before you begin:
Boil the cotton for 15 minutes before using.
Be absolutely sure there are no shorts after wiring up the head.
Test the resistance of the new coil.
Realize although cotton wick is far superior to other wicking materials it cannot be dry burned.

A meter of wick and kanthal will last you a long time. You may not need that much. Always look for hotspots on the coil legs.

I saw a guide for replacing the wick with a stainless steel mesh one, like found in a genesis style mod. Supposed to have better flavor.

Vivi Nova Rebuild Tutorial - loooong!

Just rebuilt my Vivi nova last night. There are plenty of videos out there on ECF and youtube on how to do this. There are also many different ways of wicking. 100% unbleached cotton with 30 gauge A-1 Kanthal works best for me. I've rebuild many different kinds of rebuildables and this is easiest in my opinion. I get my supplies from Elite vapor and OKC vapor. And do also check out the rebuildable section on ECF that is lots of info available.

Careful where you buy them from, there is a lot of copies out there. I like to look on Vision's website for official retailers
