I'm a pretty techie type person, but I don't understand my VTR. It works when it wants to work, and when it does... I love it. I want to take it apart and rewire it and make it a machine that works when I press the button. Right now, it only work some of the time, and I can't for the life of me figure out why or when it will choose to work or not. I'm frustrated.
I'm vaping on it right now. It wasn't working, so I poked. No. I spun. No. I prodded. Changed to a new fully charged battery. No. Repeat prodding and poking for 20 minutes, and it worked again. I don't know why. I checked my coil on a multimeter, ohm reader, mech mod, and an ego.... 2.7ohms, worked on all of them, with and without wick, but little miss fussy pants VTR wouldn't fire it, read NON... till it did. Now it's working great, but I know if I look at it wrong, it'll stop working again. It won't just work not so great, it won't work at all.
I duno. I guess I'm just venting my frustration. I love the recessed tank, the way it's built, the way it fits in my hand... I just wish it worked when I pressed the button. I don't care about VV/VW, but there's plenty of room in the housing to fit a board for some kind of protection, volt reader, usb charging... And that's what I'm asking.
Good idea, bad idea? Suggestions? Tips / tricks?
Again, I don't need a dna30 board or anything close. I keep my watts around 5-6 and that's my happy spot. I've tried higher and I like where I'm at.

If it's just a mechanical problem with the 510 connection, changing out all the guts seems like massive overkill to me. ;)

You're probably right. I should just open it up and replace the wiring to the 510 wheel with a different 510 connector. Something 20mm, and superglue it into place.

Sounds like you got one of the first, because that's about how long they've been around.
What did you do? Do you still have it? Did you throw it at the wall, because that's how I feel. Did you try to fix it?
yes I still have it...lying sadly at the bottom of my tool kit. I contacted Innokin asking for assistance and was RUDELY sent a tough luck message and advised spare parts were not available. It was a well treated unit..never dropped or mistreated even after it died....funny thing is I never had a problem with the rotating wheel...go figure
