So in the next couple of days I should be reviving my spheroid in the mail, it's my first rba. So my question to you all is, what type of wire and wick should I get and where would I buy it? Also where would I get the filler material here in the US and I was wondering if there is any brick-and-mortar shop I would be able to, at least, pick up wire from because I don't think it comes with wire?

Hiya Ghost. I should be receiving my Spheroid within the next week or so myself, have been stalking these things for a month!

I believe that it does come with some extra filler material, not so sure about extra wick and wire. I saw 2mm and 3mm silica wick recommended, but I know others are happy enough with thinner wick. I already have some silica wick and 32g Kanthal wire that I bought from Stormy's Vapor Cellar that I plan to use in mine. They ship super fast (I'm across the river from you in Vancouver) I always receive my orders from Stormy's within just a couple of days.

The filter material that seems to be popular is the Sera Filter Wool, used for aquariums, I have seen it both on Amazon and ebay for relatively reasonable prices--I did a search on petsmart.com and found a similar filter by Laguna, and I'll be headed into petsmart this weekend to pick that up, I think it was around $6 for a good sized amount of it that will last probably more than a year, lol.

Enjoy your Spheroid when you get it!:vapor:

I have my spheroid for a week or so and searched these things also , from what I gathered one of the best wicks out there is Aunt Lydia's number 10 natural , you can get it from midwestscrapbook.com and they offer international shipping.

after that I got the kanthal A-1 32 gauge wire from Ebay , After building several good coils I am positive you could use even smaller 28 gauge Kanthal successfully because the air hole is directly between the positive and negative and that allows alot of room for coil making I imagine ...

for the foam filler instead of the suggested filler I ordered some Marineland blue U-foam from Ebay , After reading several posts it seems it holds the liquid better , But I'm not sure it works the same way in the spheroid because the filler does not come in contact with the coil , it seems to me like the blue foam holds the liquid too well! and the Aunt Lydia's wick cant seem to "draw" the liquid from the foam sometimes , so I imagine the normal filler is actually better only for the spheroid , Used normal filler after the blue foam and the taste is better. The original filler material is called sera Filter Wool 100g Bag Fine Floss Media , search it on Ebay.

Oh and make sure you boil the blue foam if you decide to try it to remove any imperfections that ruin taste , also do that for the wick!

I make the coils with 3 individual wicks , make sure to watch scott's review of the spheroid. the taste is amazing because of the way the spheroid is build , it's like the liquid is saturated in the air or something ... I dont know ,

Last thing is forget about closing the spheroid without some hex screw or bit , It's freakin impossible when everything is in eliquid ! like it will be .. you will see.
also because it's polished your finger just slips , and it needs to be tight , and you cant do that with your fingers damnit! they really should make it cost 2$ more and include a hex screw or something for that ...

It comes with enough filler for 1 (maybe 2) builds. However, the filler is easily rinsed, dried, and reused, and you can get the material at PetSmart etc. The wick is a little different then I have used in the past. It is very strong/durable. Last night I messed with some 3mm (from COV) and some 1mm wick (from bullismoker) and didn't have the results I would like. The Bullismoker wick got caught in the threads and tore up, and when I used the the 3mm I had to hot of a coil on it... Anyways, there is a enough wick for more then a few builds also. I wish I had added wick to my order when I placed it, as it is very good wick. As far as wire, I have been using 32g nichrome and building 1.7Ω coils, vaped on both a ProVari and a Piccolo.

Spheroid is really a nice setup, easy to build, flavor is good, TH is really good, and vapor is pretty good. I like my genisis atomizers more for vapor production, and the Spheroid for no leaking etc... The vapor production is thick and wet on my gens, and more "fine" with the Spheroid.

Built another similar to zalaros' coil & wick. Even better now. I used thick wick and 32g nichrome here. Breaking it in now, but the vapor and flavor is like it should. Thanks for photo!

Hey guys, was searching the forum for filler tips.

Was wondering if anyone has suggestions for the amount of filler to use depending on the PG/VG ratio?

So far i found 1.5cm wide by 5.5-6cm long awesome for 80/20 mix.

currently using a new juice and i think its a 70/30 mix and i can't find the right balance (i don't know what the juice should taste like so i can't really judge)

Suggestions anyone?

I'm happy owner of two Spheroids. They're my most favourite atties now. I tried several setups and my most favourite is double 3mm wick with 0.2mm kanthal, 4 wraps. I also tried "lasso" but it's not as good as 4 ends of the wick imo. The only problem I have with Spheroid is that wick is going to unravel during the use and I have about 10 small wicks after couple of days which are not easy to put back when I'm assembling Spheroid after filling. Also it's almost impossible to keep the coil at the same place after filling so sometimes I have to open it again and manipulate a little bit with center coil on the wick. Considering the fact that wick is full of juice...Not perfect solution. Do you have an idea how to fill Spheroid without opening? It's probably unavoidable. I'm doing better and better but I still canť avoid contact with the juice when refiling. Genisis systems with "static" coil are more comfortable for filling.

Hey bud!

Yeah they are awesome attys! as for your coil, i just make sure its down tight enough so after you prop it up over the air hole it doesnt move. It stays in place and the screw posts guide it back up towards the filler. Vaping greek and Pbursardo do a good video on it.

When rebuilding make sure you hold the coil flush with the base and so the coil is just above the air hole. Screw down the nuts catching the wire and it will take a little force to prop the coil up but once you do, it stays in place. Use a small screw driver or pin to move the coils back to an even spacing and then dry burn two or three times and your good to go. This is how i been doing mine and its been awesome!

Good luck and great choice!

sounds about right, im close to that i think. so far i get it to hold 2 ml and i too use a doubled 3mm wick with 4 wraps. and have found a little twist of the wick to stick it all together before reinserting helps with the squid wick problem.

this is one wicked little atty and probably the only one i have i cant chain vape without getting dizzy.
and just about any petshop filter polyfill will work, can get enough for 3 lifetime supplies for a few bucks.

now if they could just make one that holds about 5 ml................

I use one piece of 3.5mm wick and 4wraps of 32g KA1. Coil right now is 1.9 ohm running 4v for almost 8.5 watts. My other attys I usually run around 10 watts but its too much for this one. I can run this coil on a mech mod and it great through the life of the batt. Need to get me a Piccalo to go with it.
