It's pretty common to rebuild coils like protank coils. :)
If you've the interests it's quite easy to do. In that case you're not far away from turning into real rebuildables. :)

Done it. I prefer a fresh coil for every re wick.
You do know that you can dryburn them? Guess it depends on what you're rebuildning though.
Making a new coil every rewick would be tedious o_O (i rewick pretty much every day, kayfun and drippers)

I can dryburn them and they'll last months, I just replace a flavor wick each cleaning.

Fasttech has 50 packs of premade coil/wicks for two bucks and change. I haven't wrapped a coil since they came out. Truly a fantastic value and takes the hassle out of rebuilding a head, takes me exactly 1 minute to switch one out from a fully assembled clearo.

People do it all the time. Rebuidling Kanger single coils is fairly simple, although it can be tedious because they are so small. As with any rebuild, you need to know what you're doing and check ohms before using. Rewicking is easy, but be careful there, too. Too much or too little wick can cause issues, as well. Once you mastered the Kanger coils, you might be ready to get a "real" rebuildable atty and, whoops!, there you go down the rabbit hole!

I kept all the old Kanger coils after the flavor died on them. I've collected about 25-30 of the darned things. I taught my son how to wrap coils to 1.8 ohms and he's been making them. I don't think I'll ever need to buy a knew one. Hell, I still have 20 new coils, still in the packages, but prefer the rebuilt ones for their vape and flavor production.
