I received a 30+ watt mod as a gift but I have no idea what to do with it please help (and don't say stick it up my bum and blow vapor rings out my mouth please:) )

I've been vaping 5 plus years! :) but for the last 4 it has been exclusively with a bottom feeding mod -

I have been building my own coils in the .8-1.1 ohm range at 3.7 volts and have been mildly satisfied with them - however the convenience of feeding the rba with juice at a press of a bottom has been great and why I've stayed with BFs for 4 years

vaping on a .4 ohm rda at 20-30 watts if I gonna have to drip 5 drops to get 2 drags is kinda not appealing to me - so what is one to do ? what do DNA or 20 watt owners do?

I heard kayfuns are best at a 1.2-1.8 ohm w mild wattage - I have 1 clone n must agree

I currently own 1 kayfun clone, 1 kayfun rocket, and rbas that fit my BottomF- not really designed for outside use

Seriously what do people do with their 30 watt devices - I don't want to drip - been there 5 years ago and don't want to go back -- what are some options of things to buy to make this 35 watt device enjoyable - is there a rba that holds liquid that can handle .5, .6, .7 ohms and still deliver enough juice to the atomizer/coils to vape at 20-30 watts ---

Not all owners of 25 watt and higher devices solely drip ? Do they?

Any advice or helpful links will be great ! I'm desperate need - )

I to love the bottom feeders :)I have bin fooling around with 30 watt devices lately I made my own Bottom Feeder 30 Watt mod just cause you really can't buy one and it's Awesome! I also have bin trying to get a RTA to work good on a 30 watt device and have found that A fogger V4 with dual coils at .8 ohms and 22 watts woks good I am experimenting with my Kayfuns rite now and am using this video tutorial
Kayfun Lite Organic Cotton and Micro Coil Build - YouTube
What I did different is a dual coil wrap 2 strands of 28 gauge at the same time I did 6 wraps around a small screw driver and it meters out at just under .8 ohms and will have to say for now it is working really good at 22 watts
the only thing is the coil isn't easy to wrap to keep the 2 wires really straight and not crossing each other when your wrapping is a PIA :)

It doesn't cost much more to go from 20 to 30 watts. I am not even sure evolve is still making the DNA 20. I have seen some mods priced the same for 20 or 30 watts.

For those who want to chase clouds it is a lot safer/easier to use a regulated mod. No worries about the atty shoring out, no worries about running the battery too low, some mods have 2, or more, 18650s so you can vape at 30 watts all day.

I have never bumped up against my 20 watt mods but my newest one was a choice between a $195 DNA 20 and a $205 DNA 30 and I spent the extra $10 just in case.

Well.....its nice to have a regulated mod that doesnt use PWM. Your mod will work very well on higher ohm devices. It will also allow you to build a Kayfun at lower resistance so you can try that. Point is you have now expanded your choices if you ever do want to try something different down the road. You can vape .6 ohm attys at a more satisfying wattage level. I have used and still own an MVP 2 and its is way better than EGO devices. But, when I compare it to a device that can actually deliver there is no comparison. I build my own coils at anywhere from, 6 to 1.8 depending on the device. I never vape below 12.5 watts or so. The vape is not warm or hot or burnt. It does have more flavor and density. This is achieved with a proper build with proper wicking. I do also vape over 20 watts with the lower resistance builds in drippers....the vape IS warm, not hot....and has amazing flavor. I do not use cleoros anymore.....those would certainly be below 11 watts..but the flavor does not come close to a rebuilt device.

Thanks All,

But Wait. Just kinda to clarify. I guess part of my question was what are some good toppers to use on non bottom feeders that have 20 watt and above capabilities. Doesn't have to be exactly at 30 watts lol. And what are some good ranges of coil resistances to build-(I guess that part I can find out on my own experimenting a little as everyone is different)
\
..... Poking around with this kayfun rocket type rba/rta at 1.2 ohm has been halfway decent. Somehow alot (which is good) of juice seems to get to the coil so no burnt taste at the higher wattages, I actually tasted some nuances in this flavor ive been vaping for awhile that were nice up around 18 watts.

But really I am tip toeing into the scene of non bottom feeders a little. First thing I got was MVP, Hades clone, and now this all with in 6 months and Im done buying devices. Time to buy a atty or two...... Only attys I have is kayfun 3.1 clone, kayfun rocket, and rbas that fit my bottom feeder. Hence my interest in some topper choices!.

Which brings me to what do you guys vape that don't drip and is not a kayfun! lol...that would be my long drawn out question :).

thanks for listening and any and all input so far and in the future

..................................

Steamer861- Thats my partner in crime! going on 4 years exclusively vaping them. thats amazing you built a DNA one. that must be amazing! No VV BF are not really avail. anymore commercially. But if you have a BF why not just use a RDA (obviously have to fine one with a hole milled in the bottom). Why you messing with RTAs ? --thanks for the tip though

Crunchy--funny...

Shootist-- Im with ya! I know on the 27.5 watt thing. so funny. regular mech and a dripper get you 30 watts and then some.

George- I own MVP too. I needed an ohm checker and with all the other features it had and it sells for 39 now so I picked one up some months back. I hear ya on warmer vapes on lower ohms on some other devices. yes I really like a warm vape.

Well just FYI, you don't necessarily only get 2 hits from a dripper; it is completely dependent on your build. I personally get 5-10 hits easily when I load up the cotton nice and good (even at 30 watts).

Also, a 30 watt device doesn't have to be vaped at 30 watts. If you're the type of person that doesn't feel they can enjoy something unless the way they are using it is unique to only that device (such as using it at 11 watts while you can just use your MVP2 at 11 watts, etc..) then sell it. Other than that the main point we be to have a regulated device and not a mech since sometimes a regulated device is just better for a certain topper. At least the 30 watts will be there for when you need it.

And to answer your question, yes, I think anyone vaping at 30 watts would be using an RDA.

the only thing is the coil isn't easy to wrap to keep the 2 wires really straight and not crossing each other when your wrapping is a PIA :)

I adore parallel coils like the one you described, that's all I run in my PT2m. Just thought I'd share my method for wrapping parallels, it's a bit easier for me than the way you do it. I have a cheap power drill from the Chinese toy store (Harbor Freight), and what I do is tighten down my screwdriver in the chuck with my 2 wires, then run it at the lowest speed while pinching the wire down tight with my thumb. That keeps the wires straight and prevents the overlapping you mentioned, and it makes the coil tight. I do 8 wraps with 32g and it comes out to .8 ohms, which is the lowest my iTaste VV v3 will handle. I marked one of the jaws on my chuck with a silver Sharpie, which is how I count the wraps. Then I torch the coil while on the screwdriver until it glows red, pull it off, then torch it again while squeezing it between my tweezers. With 28g on your atty, probably doesn't need to be torched, but I do it because I'm using them in a tiny ProTank head and they like to spread later on if I don't torch them, and then they short out or the resistance goes up. I can't wait for my Seven-30, I really want to try it at 22 like you do because I can tell it wants more power. But anyway, my process might seem like overkill, but I thought I'd share, in case it helps you or someone else.

Current vape:
Innokin iTaste VV v3
PT2m w/ 0.8 ohm 32g 5 wrap parallel micro coil at 11w
Local juice
