Recently quit smoking, don't know where to go from here...

Hello everyone, just wanted to pop in and introduce myself. I'm completely new to ECigs, PVs, and the like. The further I delve into the forums, the more dizzying everything seems.

A little back story for you guys, my fiancee and I 'WERE' pack a day smokers. On the 17th of this month, we quit cold turkey and never looked back. Unfortunately, 3 days in (today) and we were stressed as can be. We made a decision together that we would allow the nicotine back into our lives as long as it didn't involve tobacco and a lighter. I know that I will never smoke a real cigarette again.

I've used the no name 808s and I'm puffing on a Blu cig right now to keep me satisfied. I absolutely HATE them! I need to know what I should be buying that can deliver a solid, thick, flavorful vaping experience, but also get me through my 14 hour college days. Depending on my college rules, a USB passthrough might be an option. My fiancee will probably be influenced by my buying decisions, but I know she doesn't want the monster I'm describing. I know she'd be fine with carrying a spare battery and accessories (Men will never know the convenience of a purse). Any hints, tips, direction, etc. would be greatly appreciated and treated as a godsend. Thank you guys in advance for the help!!

I agree, the eGo kits are a great starting point. I just started vaping at the beginning of the year. I originally bought a rn4081(thread pattern) starter kit from a company before I knew much about ecigs. After receiving the kit and doing research I was very disappointed by my choice. Mostly because of the lack of readily available accessories for the rn4081. Lucky, the company offered a 30 day guarantee and I ordered their eGo kit and am very happy. However, I see an APV in my very near future. Congrats on your decision and good luck!

I can tell you that the bigger the battery, the more enjoyable your vaping experience will be. Longer battery time, stronger hits like the old analogs, and larger juice carrying device options. How important will it be that your device look like a cigarette? Can it be as big as a long cigar (eGo style battery)? Or bigger still, like a mod with replaceable, rechargeable batteries that can last all day on a single battery?

Finding a good flavor or two that you don't mind vaping all day is probably more important that the device you vape it with. Try ordering sample packs from various vendors. That way you can cover more ground trying many flavors, and not waste money on larger bottles that you might not care for.

Always have a backup battery. One to use while the primary is being charged. And batteries do fail occassionally. And always have a weeks supply of juice on hand, about how long it takes to get an online order, unless you have a brick and mortar shop nearby. By the way, if you have one of those, they usually allow you to come in to test out flavors.

Are there any distributors you would recommend to someone in Wisconsin? I'm looking at shipping costs... I'm too far out of the way to go to a B&M, if one exists at all. We're just too small of a market where I live.

It's depressing, because I can go to the local gas station and load up on real cigs, but getting an alternative is harder to find, and may make me a criminal soon.... What the hell?

I started out with the 2 Joye eGo/510 900mah passthroughs,(about 20 USD at the time) and 2 Vision Vivi nova minis.(~7USD) The passthroughs allowed me to vape while recharging via the little usb plug at the bottom. I bought a lanyard(~5USD) for them to keep under my shirt while working/studies etc. Nothing hightech or too bulky and gave me time to seriously look into all the other options out there. I bought these particular units based on recommendations from multiple family members who suggested them.

What you do in the privacy of your home is your business. I'm surprised how many people are forgetting this. Even if the FDA bans this or that, it will never stop e-cigs. There are simply too many ways to get all the hardware and ingredients needed from so many alternative sources. Just sayin' :)

There's a link to a Wisconsin vapors facebook group. You're not alone :)

I help a lot of newbies here, and I know a thing or two from vaping for 10 months. I collected an ideal beginner's setup in the following link.

I provide a choice of two different brands of eGo variable voltage batteries, with a charger and optional wall adaptor. I also provide a choice of two different, easy to learn juice carrying devices. In addition links to my favorite juice vendors who also provide juice samplers. The gear comes from trusted ECF vendors, and the gear is genuine brand name, not knockoff no-name models that are notoriously poor in performance. Give it a look.

Here & There
I ended up purchasing 2 eGo-C Twists 1000mAh, a 3.5ml ViVi nova, 2 CE4 Clearomizers, 2 Nano 510 Clearomizers, and 60ml of various liquids through AltSmoke.com

Thanks for the direction guys. I'll post with my results when the hardware arrives!

If you end up going back there make sure to like them on facebook and get the 10% off coupon code. I love their Silver Bullet mod.
